How does the Citizen Financial Fraud Reporting System work?
A platform called ‘Citizen Financial Fraud Reporting System’ is available for the police on the cybercrime portal, in which nodal officers of all bank merchants and wallet companies are also connected along with the police. As soon as a complaint of cyber financial fraud is lodged on the portal, its information first reaches the nodal officer of the bank of which the account holder is the applicant. The nodal officer through the portal informs the bank account holder to whom the amount has been credited. If funds are available in the account of the accused account holder of the other notified bank, the same gets put on hold, And if the amount has been transferred from the second bank to a third bank, then the nodal officer of the second bank informs the nodal officer of the third bank in this regard. This process goes on until such an account holder is received in whose account the amount is present. If money is withdrawn from the ATM by the accused, the money cannot be held and the bank informs the police in this regard.
