Chief Minister will unveil the trophy 

Welcome ceremony will be held at Chief Minister’s residence office

The Hockey World Trophy will reach Chhattisgarh on 24 December. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will unveil the trophy in the capital Raipur. The Hockey World Cup trophy is being taken on tour by Hockey India New Delhi to different 16 states of the country. In the last stop, it is reaching Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. It is noteworthy that the FIH Odisha Men’s World Cup is being organized in Odisha from 13 to 29 January 2023. This competition will be held in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela. 

On reaching the Hockey World Trophy Raipur, a program has been organized to welcome the trophy at the Chief Minister’s residence office. The chief guest of the program will be Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Umesh Patel will preside over the programme. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel will also unveil the Hockey World Trophy in the main program organized at Chief Minister’s residence at 10.30 am.

Chhattisgarh Hockey General Secretary Mr. Manish Srivastava said that this is the first time that the Hockey World Cup trophy is coming to Raipur. Earlier on 23 December 2022, Field Marshal K.M. The trophy will be handed over to Chhattisgarh Hockey President Mr. Firoz Ansari in a grand ceremony at Cariappa Stadium, Bengaluru (Karnataka). 

Mr. Ansari will reach Swami Vivekananda Airport Raipur by flight at 9 am with this trophy from Bengaluru, where the trophy will be welcomed with fanfare. All the players and officials of the Sports Association will reach the Chief Minister’s residence at 10.30 am with the trophy from there. After the program, the trophy will be taken to the Netaji Subhash Stadium in the city in the form of a rally. From there it will be taken to a big mall in the city and on display to the general public at Telibandha Marine Drive. After this the trophy will leave for Bhubaneswar, the venue of the World Cup.

Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Government of Chhattisgarh and ‘Chhattisgarh Hockey’ have appealed to all the players and sports lovers to attend in maximum numbers to make this program a success.
