Met Agriculture Minister, Heaps praise on farmer-friendly policies of Chhattisgarh Government
Expressed happiness over getting the highest price for paddy and sugarcane in the country, expressed gratitude
Raipur, 07 December 2022, A group of farmers hailing from Tamil Nadu, on their visit to Chhattisgarh observed the farmer-friendly schemes being implemented by the Chhattisgarh Government. They hailed the price of paddy and sugarcane being received by the farmers in Chhattisgarh.
The group met Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey and appreciated the farmer-friendly policies and programmes of the Chhattisgarh Government. They heaped praises on the efforts being made by the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel to strengthen the rural economy. The group of farmers belonging to the Kaveri Farmer Protection Association visited the Paddy Procurement Centre, Multiutility Center, and Gauthan and held discussions with the employees and farmers working there.
During the interaction with the Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, these farmers said that farmers are getting the highest price for paddy in Chhattisgarh. The paddy-producing farmers here are getting maximum profit in the country as compared to other states. Such benefits are not available even in their home state of Tamil Nadu. Like the state of Chhattisgarh, all the paddy-producing farmers of the country should be given similar benefits.
Shri Sundar Vimal Nathan said that similarly sugarcane is also being bought here at the rate of more than Rs 4000 per tonne. The benefits that the farmers of Chhattisgarh are getting are not available even in the sugarcane-producing states. He said that the Chhattisgarh government is working for the welfare of farmers through Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. He expressed his gratitude towards Chhattisgarh Government for this.
The delegation of farmers presented saplings of red banana and coconut trees to the Agriculture Minister. The Agriculture Minister also warmly welcomed the farmers and inquired about the facilities being provided in the field of agriculture in their state and explained in detail about the innovative programmes and schemes being run for the farmers in Chhattisgarh.
The Agriculture Minister also discussed with the farmers about the red banana cultivation being done in Tamil Nadu and also instructed the officials of the agriculture department to test the possibilities of red banana cultivation here. Parliamentary Secretary Ms. Shakuntala Sahu, Fishermen Welfare Board Chairman Shri MR Nishad, and Agriculture Department officials were also present on the occasion.
