Raipur: Farmers delegation from Tamil Nadu met the Chief Minister

The delegation said – the farmer friendly government of Chhattisgarh is exemplary for the whole country

Representatives of 14 farmers from Thanjavur district, who arrived from Tamil Nadu state, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Minister at Circuit House Gariaband this evening. He also presented coconut saplings and five varieties of organic paddy to the Chief Minister.
The head of the team Mr. Sundar Vimal said that 14 members of the Kaveri River Farmers’ Production Organization of Thanjavur have come to meet him impressed by the farmer-friendly policies of the Chhattisgarh government. He told that farmers are getting the maximum benefit from the purchase of paddy in Chhattisgarh. He is exemplary for the whole country, it should be like this in Tamil Nadu also. He said that the state government of Chhattisgarh is farmer friendly and is continuously working for the upliftment of the farmers.
Along with this, farmers are being given bonus amount per acre through Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, due to which the farmers are getting prosperous. Talking face to face with the farmers, the Chief Minister said – Welcome to all. He further said that minor forest produce, sugarcane and millets are being procured by the government at better prices. The government is making every possible effort to give the farmers the fruits of their hard work. Apart from this, the villagers are becoming self-reliant through organic farming under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, while 21 lakh quintals of cow dung has also been procured, due to which the people are getting double benefit. During this, local MLA Mr. Amitesh Shukla and Special Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Ankit Anand expressed gratitude towards the farmers
