Sports Authority of India approved 07 Khelo India Center in Chhattisgarh,
With this, Chhattisgarh now has a total of 14 Khelo India Centers.

The efforts made by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel to promote sports in Chhattisgarh have been a great success. As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, on the proposal of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department of Chhattisgarh, the Sports Authority of India has approved the establishment of seven Khelo India centers in Chhattisgarh under the Khelo India Scheme. These seven centers will be opened for one game each in different districts. Khelo India Center has been approved by the Sports Authority of India for Weightlifting, Football, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Badminton. Sports Authority of India will also provide financial assistance for setting up these centres. Now the total number of centers under the Khelo India scheme has gone up to 14 in Chhattisgarh.
Expressing happiness over the approval of seven Khelo India centers in Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister has said that the players of Chhattisgarh will get a good chance to enhance their sporting talent. In the coming times, these players will bring laurels to the state and the country at the national and international level. He said that this has proved to be another meaningful step in realizing the concept of ‘Khelbo Jeetbo Garhbo Nava Chhattisgarh’.
On the instructions of the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the Directorate of Sports had sent a proposal to the Sports Authority of India to start Khelo India Center of various sports, out of which Weightlifting Center in Balod, Football Center in Balodabazar, Kabaddi Center in Patan Durg, Kho- Approval has been obtained from the Sports Authority of India to start Khon Centre, Weightlifting Center at Raipur, Badminton Center at Raigarh and Football Center at Sukma. Prior to this, approval to start Archery Center in Shivtrai Bilaspur, Archery Center in Bijapur, Hockey Center in Rajnandgaon, Hockey Center in Jashpur, Volleyball Center in Gariaband, Malkhambh Center in Narayanpur and Khelo India Center in Ambikapur Surguja from the Sports Authority of India. has been received. Sports training in the state of Chhattisgarh will now be strengthened. While starting all these Khelo India centres, the Directorate of Sports will continuously monitor these centres.
Local senior players of each sport would be attached to the centre, they would also be paid an honorarium for acting as coaches. Equal representation of boys and girls players will also be ensured in all Khelo India centres. These centers will be registered in the Sports Authority of India portal.
