Health Minister Shri T.S. Singhdev has written a letter to panchs and sarpanchs across the state and appealed to honor Mitanins by organizing programs in village panchayats on Mitanin Day on November 23. He has said that Mitanins have done remarkable work in the field of nutrition, health and awareness. They are the pride of our state.

Health Minister Mr. Singhdev has said in a letter to Panch-Sarpanches that on November 23, 2022, our Mitanin program is completing 21 years. The hard work of our 72 thousand Mitanin sisters has contributed a lot in improving the health of the people of Chhattisgarh. The progress that Chhattisgarh has achieved in the health sector after becoming a state would not have been possible without the efforts of the Mitanins.

Shri Singhdev has said in the letter that Mitanin sisters started their work 21 years ago with the subjects of maternal health, child health and nutrition. Then he treated Malaria, Diarrhea, T.B. And started playing a big role in fighting diseases like leprosy and today she is also connecting the community with services for mental health, BP, sugar etc. She is working to raise awareness of the community on health issues, provide appropriate advice and provide first aid for common ailments. Along with the right to health, Mitanin sisters are also doing better work on social issues like women empowerment. She is connecting the community with the rights of many welfare schemes of the government.

Mr. Singhdev has mentioned in his letter that after learning from the Mitanin program of Chhattisgarh, ‘ASHA’ program was made across the country in which today 10 lakh women are community health workers. Mitaninen are the pride of Chhattisgarh. The World Health Organization has also appreciated his contribution at the global level this year. Every year November 23 is celebrated as Mitanin Samman Divas in the state. 

Underlining the contribution of Mitanins, the Health Minister has told the Panch-Sarpanches that they are continuously working for the community and Panchayati Raj institutions are the leaders of the community. He has appealed to all the sarpanchs and panchs to honor Mitanin sisters by organizing Mitanin Day on November 23 with pomp in their respective gram panchayats.
