Chief Minister paid Rs 68.90 crore to farmers under sugarcane promotion scheme

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that the dream of self-supporting villages of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi is slowly being realized in Chhattisgarh. Out of the Gauthans built in villages under Godhan Nyay Yojana, 3089 Gauthans have become self-supporting. From October 15 to October 31, 2022, about 50 percent of the amount paid in lieu of cow dung purchased in Gauthans has been paid by self-supporting Gauthans. This is a big change. The self-supporting Gauthans have so far purchased cow dung worth Rs 24.15 crore from their own resources.

         Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was addressing a program organized for distribution of cow dung purchase amount, dividend amount to women self-help groups and Gauthan committees and sugarcane incentive amount to sugarcane growing farmers at his residence office here today. The Chief Minister directed the officers to promote the use of vermi compost in Rabi season like Kharif and to encourage purchase of cow urine in Gauthans.
         It is worth mentioning that in lieu of the cow dung purchased in the last fortnight of October, a total of Rs 4.69 crore has been paid to the villagers and cattle owners who sold cow dung today. Out of this amount, Rs 2.37 crore has been paid by the department and Rs 2.32 crore has been paid by the self-supporting Gauthans. The Chief Minister said that this is a positive change. It is also the intention of the state government that in the coming time all the Gauthans should become self-supporting. Gothan committees can conduct the activities there from their own resources.

Chief Minister launched sugarcane promotion scheme
        Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel released an amount of Rs. 5 crore 35 lakh online to cow dung vendors, cattle rearing villagers, women’s groups associated with Gauthans and Gauthan committees in the program. 4.69 crore was paid in the Gauthans from October 15 to October 31 in lieu of 2.35 lakh quintals of cow dung purchased from cattle rearing villagers, farmers, landless. Similarly, dividend amount of Rs.39 lakh was paid to Gauthan committees and Rs.27 lakh to women groups. Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Mineral Development Corporation Shri Girish Devangan, Advisor to Chief Minister Shri Pradeep Sharma, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh were also present in the program.
    In the program, the Chief Minister said that including the amount paid today under Godhan Nyay Yojana, Rs 179.28 crore has been paid to cow dung vendors since the launch of the scheme. Similarly, Rs 164.24 crore has been paid to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups so far. He said that so far 76 thousand 820 liters of cow urine has been purchased at the rate of Rs.4 a liter in 83 Gauthans of the state. In Gauthans, 24,348 liters of pest control Brahmastra and 18,722 liters of growth enhancer Jeevamrut have been prepared by women self-help groups, out of which a total income of Rs. This activity should be further encouraged.

Rs 68.90 crore paid to sugarcane growing farmers

        Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel made an online transfer of bonus amount of Rs.68 crore 90 lakh to the sugarcane growing farmers of the state under the sugarcane promotion scheme. This amount includes the outstanding bonus amount of Rs 11.99 crore for the year 2020-21 bonus and Rs 56.91 crore for the sugarcane crushing year 2021-22. The Chief Minister said in the program that sugarcane growing farmers are being continuously encouraged under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, due to which they are also getting relief in the cost of cultivation.
         The Chief Minister said that under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojna, it was decided to give 10 thousand rupees per acre to the sugarcane growers in the year 2021-22 and the remaining amount under the sugarcane incentive scheme. In the year 2020-21, Rs 59.14 crore was to be paid to 28.589 farmers at the rate of 84.25 per quintal, out of which 47 crore 12 lakh has been paid. The remaining amount of Rs 11.99 crore is being paid by the Chhattisgarh government in addition to the fair and remunerative price announced by the Government of India. Similarly, in the sugarcane crushing year 2021-22, a total of Rs 76.24 crore is to be paid to 31,051 farmers at the rate of Rs 79 50 paise per quintal, but provided under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. Along with adjusting the input subsidy amount, as interim sugarcane production incentive amount 56.
         The Chief Minister said that it was decided by the State Government to purchase sugarcane at the rate of Rs 355 per quintal in the year 2019-20, as a result of which 34,637 farmers were given Rs 93 to 75 paise per quintal in the year 2019-20. 73 crore 56 lakh was paid as incentive amount. The Chief Minister extended greetings and best wishes to the sugarcane growers and beneficiaries of Godan Nyay Yojana on Kartik Purnima and Guru Nanak Jayanti. The Chief Minister interacted with the sugarcane growing farmers of Pandaria, Kerata and Balod through video conferencing and congratulated them for distribution of bonus. Farmers said that sugarcane growing farmers would be benefited by the start of the Athlon plant.
         The Chief Minister’s Secretary Shri Ankit Anand, Agriculture Department’s Special Secretary Dr. Ayyaz F. Tamboli, Mission Director State Rural Livelihood Mission Shri Avneesh Sharan, Special Secretary Cooperative Shri Himshikhar Gupta, Director Livestock Smt. Chandan Sanjay Tripathi, Deputy Secretary, Agriculture Department, Ms. Tulika Prajapati were also present. Many public representatives and farmer brothers from different districts were also associated with the program through video conferencing.
