Large cooperative farmers’ conference concluded in Arang

State’s Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr Shivkumar Dahria has said that strengthening farmers and agriculture is a priority of our government. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the government is working for the welfare of the farmers. The government has taken many decisions for the betterment of the farmers. Many public-friendly decisions have been taken like short term loan waiver of farmers, waiver of farmers by burning.
Dr. Dahria said that under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, input subsidy is being given to farmers to strengthen agriculture. Due to this, along with increasing the area of agriculture, such farmers, who had left agriculture, are now joining agriculture. Dr. Dahria was addressing a large cooperative farmers’ conference organized at Arang Krishi Upaj Mandi today. The program was presided over by Shri Dharmendra Sahu, MLA of Abhanpur constituency.
Dr Dahria said that the Chhattisgarh State Government is moving ahead with the resolve of Garhbo Nava Chhattisgarh. Our government’s goal is to keep working for the welfare of the poor and farmers of the village. Many farmer-friendly decisions have been taken in the last four years. A historic decision was taken to free the farmers from the burden of debt.
He said that along with buying paddy in support price, farmers are being given input subsidy under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. This has boosted the morale of the farmers. Farming is also proving to be a profitable deal now. By starting the Godhan Nyay Yojana, cow dung is being purchased from cattle farmers and dung vendors at the rate of Rs.2 per kg. Villagers and women are being provided employment in the work of preparing vermi compost from cow dung.
He said that a total of 74 lakh 10 thousand 592 quintals of paddy were purchased from 49 thousand 840 farmer brothers of Arang region in the last four years. Rs. 01 lakh 85 thousand 264 crore has been paid to the farmers. Similarly, Chhattisgarh government has given a big relief by waiving off the loans of the farmers, in this episode, the loan of 26 thousand 558 farmers in Arang block has been waived off to the tune of Rs.8256 lakh.
At the beginning of the program, Minister Dr. Dahria was warmly welcomed by the public representatives and citizens. The program was also addressed by Abhanpur MLA Dhanendra Sahu along with other public representatives also addressed the gathering. District Co-operative Bank Raipur President Mr. Pankaj Sharma, District President Arang Mr. Khilesh Devangan, Municipal President Mr. Chandrashekhar Chandrakar and regional public representatives, cooperative representatives, officers-employees of cooperative banks participated in the program.
