In Chhattisgarh, on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the National Tribal Dance Festival is being organized for the third time. This time this event is being organized from 1st to 3rd November at Science College Ground in the capital Raipur. Tribal artists from different states, who came to participate in this event, shared their feelings about the National Tribal Dance Festival. He said that the National Tribal Dance Festival to be held in Chhattisgarh is becoming a great medium for promoting tribal art and culture of the state as well as tribal art and artists of other states of the country and giving them a new identity.
It is worth mentioning that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the Chhattisgarh government has made many welfare schemes for the tribal interests. In Chhattisgarh, the Gram Sabha was empowered by enacting a PESA law to empower the tribals and forest dwellers, from providing forest rights letters, forest resource letters to the underprivileged. In Lohandiguda, an initiative was taken to return more than 42 hundred acres of acquired land of 1707 farmers to them. On the other hand, realizing the importance of the tribal community in tribal-dominated Chhattisgarh, a public general holiday was declared on the occasion of World Tribal Day.
Chief Minister Shri Baghel made efforts to give a new identity to the rich tribal art and culture in Chhattisgarh at the international level. Part of this episode is the establishment and promotion of Devgudis and Ghotul along with the establishment of a tribal museum in Bastar and the organization of the National Tribal Dance Festival. After the year 2019, year 2021, now in the year 2022, the National Tribal Dance Festival is being organized in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. In this, tribal artists from different districts of Chhattisgarh as well as artists from all the states and union territories of the country and more than 1500 artists from 10 countries are reaching to participate. During the discussion, these artists expressed their feelings about this event.
Team leader of Andhra Pradesh Shri K.K. Madhukar told that he had become a part of the program organized in 2019. During that time he got to learn many new and interesting things by watching the performances of other states and foreign tribal artists of the country. At that time the Gaur dance of Chhattisgarh was very much liked by him. Shri Madhukar said that the National Tribal Dance Festival to be held in Chhattisgarh is unique in itself. Here they get such a platform, through which they can reach their art, culture and talent among the people of the world. This is helping them to make a new identity.
Similarly, Sri Raghavendra has brought his 15-member team from Telangana to perform Lambadi dance. According to Shri Raghavendra, the lifestyle is presented through Lambadi dance, but here in the National Tribal Dance Festival, he gets to see the lifestyle of the tribals living in different areas of the country and abroad in other dance styles. Regarding this event, he said that, events like the National Tribal Dance Festival in Chhattisgarh show how sensitive the Chief Minister of the state is to the tribal community. Shri Raghavendra expressed happiness over the fact that any Chief Minister is working in the direction of promoting tribal art, culture and giving a new identity. He described this event as a great means for the prosperity of tribal art and culture.
