The ambitious Godhan Nyay scheme of the Government of Chhattisgarh has become an example for the country and the world. Godhan Nyay Yojana of Chhattisgarh is being appreciated as a successful and strong scheme in the agriculture sector of the country. Organic farming has got a boost in the state due to the purchase of cow dung being done from village to village and continuous manufacture and use of organic manure. 

The goals for which Godhan Nyay Yojana was started, this scheme has achieved significant achievements in all those goals in a very short time. This scheme has become a source of prosperity in the villages.   

Godhan Nyay Yojana, which has become the pride of Chhattisgarh, is being appreciated across the country. The Standing Agriculture Committee of Parliament has praised this scheme of the Government of Chhattisgarh and recommended its implementation in the whole country. 

Under Godhan Nyay Yojana, 87.28 lakh quintals of cow dung has been procured from cattle rearers, villagers and farmers in the last two and a half years, due to which other materials including organic manure are being manufactured by women self-help groups in Gauthans. So far, Rs 174.56 crore has been paid to the dung vendors in lieu of purchase of cow dung. About 24 lakh quintals of Vermi Compost, Super Compost and Super Compost Plus have been manufactured by women self-help groups from the purchased cow dung. Out of which 20 lakh quintals of compost has been used by the farmers in their fields. This has given a boost to organic farming in the state.

Godhan Nyay Yojana was started in Chhattisgarh from the day of Hareli festival on 20th July 2020. Under this scheme, 45.81 lakh quintals of cow dung was procured in 9 months i.e. March 2021, which was used sequentially for making vermi compost. In the year 2021-22, 21.28 lakh quintals of cow dung was procured in the state. There has been an increase in the number of cow dung sellers registered with Indraj through continuous monitoring of the scheme and duly building the portal. The number of registered vendors increased from 2,45,831 in the year 2020-21 to 3,12,647 in the year 2021-22 and the cow dung vendors have been directly benefitted.  

Due to continuous monitoring and monitoring of cow dung vendors, the number of cow dung vendors in Gothans has increased to 2,93,496 in the year 2022-23 and the purchase of cow dung is taking place. In the current year, 21.81 lakh quintals of cow dung has been procured in the first six months, the quantity of which is expected to double by the end of the year.  

Officials associated with the Godhan Nyay Mission say that the procurement of cow dung is being done with complete transparency in the state. Arrangements have also been made for the safe maintenance of the purchased dung in the Gauthans. In Bijapur district of the state, information has been received that 2 thousand quintals of cow dung has been washed away. Along with continuous monitoring of the implementation of Godhan Nyay Yojana, complaints are being resolved promptly. The complaint related to the scheme in Bilaspur and Dhamtari districts has been resolved. The case of selling 6400 quintals of cow dung from farmers having two bullocks, buying cow dung from neighboring areas and paying lakhs of rupees without buying cow dung is factless.

Officials said that in the year 2020-21, 1,14,603 quintal dung was purchased in Gariaband district and 77,147 quintal dung has been used for making manure. Similarly, 93,870 quintals and 1,19,024 quintals of cow dung were purchased in Surajpur and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi districts and 68,524 quintals respectively. and 46,384 qt. Dung has been used for making manure.

Vermi compost manufacturing is a continuous process, the quantity of cow dung purchased in Gothanas and the quantity and conversion of compost production is affected on the basis of season. Purchase of cow dung and production of compost is done on the basis of vermi stitch made in Gothans. 

So far, 1,38,384 quintal dung has been made available to women self-help groups in Surguja district for the manufacture of vermi compost. Due to which 57,248 quintals of vermi compost has been produced, which is 41 percent. Similarly, in Bastar district, 39,377 quintal vermi has been made from 82,876 quintal cow dung and in Bijapur, 18468 quintal vermi compost has been made from 38,811 quintal cow dung which is about 48 percent. 

356.14 crore paid to the beneficiaries of Godhan Nyay Yojana

Under the Godhan Nyay Yojana, so far Rs 356 crore 14 lakh has been paid to cow dung sellers, cattle rear farmers and women self-help groups in the state, including a bonus amount of Rs 18 crore. Under the Godhan Nyay Yojana, cow dung is being purchased at the rate of Rs.2 a kg in the Gauthans of the state of Chhattisgarh. 174.56 crore has also been paid to cow dung vendors in lieu of 87.28 lakh quintals of cow dung purchased in Gauthans till October 15. An amount of Rs 159.41 crore has been paid so far to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups. 163.58 crore dividend amount has been distributed to Gauthan committees and self-help groups. In self-supporting Gauthans, cow dung worth Rs. 21.78 crore has been purchased. 

Purchase of 70,889 liters of cow urine in Gauthans, 
Brahmastra and Jeevamrit sold for Rs 14.75 lakh 

At present, cow urine is being purchased at the rate of Rs 4 a liter in 78 Gauthans of the state. So far, 24,547 liters of pest control Brahmastra and 16,722 liters of Jeevamrut have been prepared from 70 thousand 889 liters of cow urine purchased in Gauthans, out of which 34,085 liters of Brahmastra and Jeevamrut have earned an income of Rs.14.75 lakh.    

Production of 24 lakh compost manure from cow dung – income of 81.84 crores to the groups

In Gauthans, 18.61 lakh quintals of vermi compost and more than 5.37 lakh quintals of super compost and 18,924 quintals of supercompost plus manure have been manufactured by women groups, which are sold through societies at the rate of Rs.10, Rs.6 and Rs.6.50 per kg respectively. being sold. Apart from manure from cow dung, women’s groups are earning profit by manufacturing and selling go-casts, lamps, incense sticks, idols and other materials. Apart from this, various other income-oriented activities are being conducted by women groups in Gauthans, including vegetable and mushroom production, poultry, goat, fish farming and animal husbandry, due to which women groups have earned an income of Rs.84.55 crore so far. Huh. There are 11,187 women self-help groups directly associated with Gauthans in the state, with a membership of 83,874. Electricity generation has been started in Gauthans by purchasing cow dung.

2.93 lakh rural cattle ranchers benefitted from cow nyay

For the conservation and promotion of cattle in the state, construction of Gauthans is being done at a rapid pace in the villages. There is better management of livestock, treatment and free fodder and water in Gauthans. So far, approval has been given for construction of Gauthans in 10,624 villages in the State, out of which 8408 Gauthans have been constructed and 1758 Gauthans are under construction. More than 2 lakh 93 thousand rural, animal husbandry farmers are getting benefited from Godhan Nyay Yojana. Among those who earn additional income by selling cow dung, 46 percent are women.
