Like every year, this year also Govardhan and Deori Tihar were celebrated with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm at the residence of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel in Raipur. In the Deori Tihar and Govardhan Puja festival organized at the residence, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel along with his wife Smt. Mukteshwari Baghel and family members performed Gaura-Gauri and Govardhan Puja and wished the state’s happiness, prosperity and prosperity by feeding khichdi to Gaumata. The Chief Minister carried out the tradition by feeding khichdi to the mother of the cow on the occasion of her gratitude towards the cow dynasty.
Congratulating on the occasion of Deori, Govardhan Puja, Bhai Dooj, Matar and Gauthan Diwas, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said in his address that after Corona, Diwali was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Chhattisgarh. On October 17, a few days before Diwali, an amount of about Rs 1900 crore was transferred to the accounts of farmers, livestock farmers, self-help groups, landless agricultural laborers under Nyay schemes. Along with this, the DA of the employees was increased and the electricity employees were also given bonus on Diwali. Due to this Diwali was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Chhattisgarh this year.
He said that in our Chhattisgarh there is a tradition of delivering lamps to each other’s house. This tradition starts with Lakshmi Puja, it continues till Gaura-Gauri Puja, Govardhan Puja. Diwali is the festival of celebration of the arrival of Lord Rama to Ayodhya. Govardhan Puja is celebrated on the second day of this festival, Lord Krishna who himself was a revolutionary thinker gave a message to the whole world not only with his thoughts but also through actions. Lord Krishna preferred the worship of Govardhan Parvat and livestock. Our government is also doing the work of serving Gau Mata. Animal farmers are also getting benefit from this.
In Dewari Tihar and Govardhan Puja Utsav, the women of Jai Maa Saraswati group presented a beautiful Sua dance in Chhattisgarhi costumes and the artists of Magarlod Dhaurabhantha enthralled the audience with the presentation of Raut Nacha with Chhattisgarhia musical instruments and traditional costumes with great enthusiasm. Gave. On this occasion, the Chief Minister encouraged them by reaching among the Raut dancers in traditional costumes. The Chief Minister could not stop himself on the splendid performance of Raut Nacha by Yadav Samaj and he also joined the troupe in traditional costume along with Raut Nacha Dancer, he danced to the tune of Gada Baaja by the members of the dance team. Together, Raut supported them in the dance. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Baghel, while encouraging the folk artists in his familiar style, said traditional Hana in the midst of Rawat dance.

It is worth mentioning that in Chhattisgarh there is a tradition of worshiping cows on the day of Govardhan Puja. The cows are decorated and worshiped and fed khichdi and reverence and gratitude are shown for the cow. Similarly, people of Yadav community dance Raut in villages and cities on the day of Govardhan Puja. In this dance, along with the wish of increasing livestock, increasing crop production, everyone is wished well.
Chief Minister’s residence decorated in rural environment for Devi-Govardhan Puja
For this special occasion, according to the tradition of Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister’s residence was decorated with paddy earrings, mango leaves, marigold flowers. Pictures of Lord Krishna playing flute above the main gate, men dancing Raut with sticks on either side of the door were displayed. The statues of women holding lamps on the inside and decorated with khumris and decorated sticks worn in Raut Nacha were lavishly decorated. Kalash and special artwork were made from paddy earrings at the Gaura-Gauri worship place in the premises.
