Diwali's cultural tradition performed the customary

The Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, according to the cultural tradition of Diwali, performed the ritual of tying a paddy frill decoration at his residence door today on the occasion of Dhanteras.

When the new crop yield is ready in the fields during Diwali, the villagers make artistic frill decorations with the tender fibers of paddy. They decorate their homes with these and invite Goddess Lakshmi to their homes while thanking her for their happiness and prosperity. It is a belief that this invitation reaches the Devi through the birds that land on their doorsteps to feed on the paddy. In this way, the folk culture of the state shares its happiness with the nature and preserves it. The tradition of hanging a paddy frill at the verandahand door of the house exists in the entire state, from Bastar to Sarguja. This frill decoration is also known as Pahata or Pinjara.
