The winds of change have started in Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. According to the intention of the Chief Minister, the administration’s reach is increasing even in the remote and interior areas. Now every effort is being made to know the problems of the common people and to solve them. In this episode, Collector of Kondagaon district, Mr. Deepak Soni and Superintendent of Police Mr. Divyang Patel reached the border villages of the district, Kudhur and Gumiyapal, by motorcycle. Here the District Collector and the SP listened to the problems of the common people and also approved the development works according to their demands and requirements. It is worth mentioning that apart from being a border village of Kudhur district, Dhur is also a Naxal-affected area.
It is noteworthy that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, several initiatives are being taken to increase the access of the general public to the governance and administration in Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister himself is also running a state-wide meeting-meeting campaign for the purpose of contact-dialogue-solution. The administrative staff is also directed to reach out to the public and work in their interest. In such a situation, Kondagaon Collector Shri Deepak Soni and Superintendent of Police Shri Divyang Patel, riding on a motorcycle, reached Kudhur, the Naxalite affected area of the border of the district, and inspected the bridge construction site on the Bhanwardih river on the Kudhur-Tumdiwal road. Along with this, took stock of the confluence of Indravati river and Bhanwardih river in Gumiyapal, dependent village of Kudhur Gram Panchayat.

During their visit, Collector and SP interacted with villagers in Kudhur, farming, payment of assistance amount of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, education of children, mothers and children in Anganwadi center Talked on other problems including access to nutritious food. During this, he assured the villagers to ensure development works through road and bridge construction in the gram panchayats Tumdiwal and Kudhur area of the three districts of Bastar zone, located in the boundaries of Bastar, Narayanpur and Kondagaon.
Initiatives to provide relief to villagers:
On the demand of the villagers, Collector Mr. Soni approved setting up of 5 hand pumps for drinking water system in Tumdiwal, Rs 36 lakh for construction of 6 culverts on Kudhur-Dharmbeda road and approval of Van Dhan Center at Kudhur and established Chironji Processing Unit. Approved. Along with this, MNREGA was asked to start employment-oriented works like land leveling, dubri and ponds, earthen road construction etc. in Tumdiwal and Kudhur gram panchayats. Collector Shri Soni instructed the officers to fix one day every week in Mardapal Gramin Bank for payment of MGNREGA wages. At the same time, the qualified youth was asked to be appointed VLE. Due to this, wage payments to villagers reach home in this area, The payment of the amount of other schemes including pension will be ensured. While discussing with the villagers and youth to promote development in the area, he said that the construction of road-bridges will help in ensuring other development works including access to basic facilities like education, health, drinking water, electricity etc. While exhorting the villagers and youth to participate extensively in road-bridge construction and other developmental activities, he formed a committee of poor youth of Tumdiwal and Kudhur village panchayats to make them grocery shops, cloth shops, hardware supplies, agricultural machinery, forest produce. Assistance to be provided for processing. Along with this, by installing solar irrigation pumps in the fields situated on the banks of river Bhanwardih, he assured to help for the production of vegetables including watermelon, papaya. Registration of farmers will be done in Gram Sabha including Fauti-transformation:
Collector Mr. Deepak Soni and SP Mr. Divyang Patel, while discussing with the villagers of Tumdiwal and Kudhur, on their demand, during the special gram sabha, by reading B-One and doing exchange of money, including transfer of money, registered all the farmers for selling paddy at support price. Instructions were given to the officers to leave. He asked to ensure action in this direction within the next one week. On the other hand, proposals for collection and processing of forest produce by organizing camps of Forest Department and Agriculture Department, installation of solar irrigation pumps including selecting self-help groups for operation of Van Dhan Kendra, Selection of farmers for Rabi crops and availability of seeds etc. should be ensured. Along with this, instructions were given to start the works of Jal Jeevan Mission in Tumdiwal and Kudhur at the earliest. On being informed by the villagers, instructions were given to the officers to start the approved electrification work in Tumdiwal Gram Panchayat at the earliest. Keeping in mind the population of village Gadamguda, he directed the officers to submit a proposal to open Anganwadi center in the said village.
