Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has given instructions to the concerned officials to make the roads pothole-free by the month of December in Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister expressed his displeasure over the officials responsible for taking a strict stand on the complaints of bad roads at many places in the state. He clearly said that there should be no compromise on the quality of roads . I should not get any complaint about the bad roads. For this, district collectors have been asked to act as nodal officers.
On the second day of the Collector’s Conference today, Chief Minister Shri Baghel reviewed the works of the Public Works Department. During this, he showed a sharp stand on the complaints of bad roads at many places of the state. He gave strict instructions to make the bad roads at the earliest. The Chief Minister directed to repair 6181 km of roads by doing patchwork immediately. Addressing the officers, he said in strong words that by December 2022 , make the roads of the state pothole free. There will be no shortage of budget for road repair. He directed that the collector should himself monitor the repair of bad roads. Giving instructions in a strict tone, the Chief Minister said that ,If I go on tour, I should not get complaints about bad roads. The road should be built at all costs. Be it the road of any department , I don’t want any excuse. The Chief Minister talked about not discussing this matter again.
The Chief Minister said that there should be no compromise on the quality of road construction . Instructions were given to coordinate all the road construction institutions among themselves. Collectors will act as nodal officers in this work. He said that if any department has problem in road construction, then it should give NOC , after which the Public Works Department will work. The Chief Minister said in a stern tone that the construction of roads is a priority , it does not matter which department does the construction.
