Adequate number of dead bodies should be made available in the districts

Raipur, 8 October 2022

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has directed to ensure the availability of sufficient autopsy to take the dead body of the deceased to their homes with dignity during treatment in government hospitals. In this regard, instructions have been issued by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to all the district collectors. In the issued instructions, it has been said that in coordination with all the District Collectors, Health Department and voluntary organizations, arrangements should be made for sufficient number of dead bodies so that arrangements can be made to transport the deceased and the bereaved family to their destination with respect. It is worth mentioning that in many government hospitals, arrangements have been made by voluntary organizations for dead bodies, but many times there are reports that vehicles are not available to the bereaved family to take the dead body home on time.
