Russian Grand Master Boris Savchenko arrives in Raipur

Raipur All India Chess Federation, Sports and Youth Welfare and Chhattisgarh Olympic Association under the guidance and patronage of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister’s Trophy International Grandmasters Chess tournament organized by Chhattisgarh State Chess Association on a large scale from 18 to 28 September in the capital Raipur. . About 500 chess legends from 15 countries of the world are participating in this tournament, including
India, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, USA, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Poland, Vietnam, Colombia, Iran, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and Nepal. Players participating from countries have been entered. In which 16 Grand Master, 27 International Master, 03 Women Grand Master, 11 Women International Master, 14 FIDE Master, 375 International Rated Players
Georgia’s veteran Grand Master Levan Pantsulia, who won the Delhi Open title in the master class, has been given the top seed. Russian Grand Master Boris Savchenko, who has been given the third seed in this competition, has arrived in Raipur. With this event, the rated players of the country and state are getting an opportunity to improve their rating, get GM and IM norms and titles. With this event of international importance, the name of not only the state of Chhattisgarh but the whole of India will be visible on the world chess map.
Apart from the winning trophy, a total prize money of Rs 35 lakh has been kept in this competition, which is the highest ever prize money. The competition is being organized in the form of two categories Masters and Challengers.
The Masters category event will conclude in 10 rounds at Hotel Grand Imperia, which will be played daily at 3 PM. In the Masters category, Rs 23 lakh and trophy will be given to the winning players.
The Challengers category event will be held in 9 rounds at Shagun Form VIP Road, Raipur. It will be played at 9 am and 3 pm. 12 lakhs in Challengers and trophy prizes will be given to the winning players.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel will inaugurate this international event, along with the Chairman FIDE Advisory Board Shri Bharat Singh Chouhan, Sports Minister Shri Umesh Patel, Mayor Raipur Shri Ejaz Dhebar, General Secretary Chhattisgarh Olympic Association Shri Gurcharan Singh Hora and President Chhattisgarh. The State Chess Federation will be concluded in the presence of Shri Raghavendra Singhania.

International decider Swapnil Bansod of Maharashtra has been entrusted with the responsibility of chief judge by the All India Chess Federation. Alankar Bhivgade, Assistant General Manager and International Judge, Bhilai Steel Plant will be the Deputy Chief Judge. To support them, 20 experienced judges from different states of the country will get the support.
Live telecast of CM Trophy
Selected 50 games of these events will be broadcast live daily through the world’s leading chess site. The responsibility of this has been given to Sri Anand Babu, the international judge of Tamil Nadu, who made a world record by successfully telecasting 700 live games at the 44th World Chess Olympiad.
