Raipur. A two-day “Manthan” program for multimodal connectivity has been organized by the Ministry of Roads and Highways of the Central Government to increase the road connectivity of the country and to facilitate traffic in remote areas. In this, departmental officers including PWD, Transport and Industry Minister from all the states of the whole country are participating. In which a delegation led by Chhattisgarh’s Commerce and Industry and Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma is also representing the state in this brainstorming program. During his inaugural address, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari called upon the State Governments to create infrastructure for seamless transportation of products by road, water and rail in their states to reduce the cost of production of industrial products. Upgradation of transport is necessary. He asked the industries to come forward for the development of multimodal connectivity to increase the export of industrial products. Gadkari also called upon the states to develop new industrial areas in collaboration with NHAI. In this program, along with Praveen Shukla, Sanjay Gajaghate, OP Banjare, Jayant Devangan of Industries Department, officials of NHAI are representing the state. The Ministers of Transport, Public Works and Industries of the states are also participating in this brainstorming program.
