Four New ‘Prayas’ residential schools to be opened for the students of Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes-EWS category
A total of 2000 students will be benefitted

On a special initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, four new ‘Prayas’ Residential Schools will be opened for the students of Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes and EWS category in the state. These four schools will be established under Rajiv Gandhi Bal Bhavishya Suraksha Prayas Avaasiy Vidyalay Yojana in the upcoming financial year 2023-24. These four Prayas Residential Schools will have a total capacity of 2000 seats, including 500 seats for boys and 500 seats for girls of scheduled caste category, 500 seats for boys and 500 seats for girls of OBC and EWS category. In each of these residential schools, 125 girls and 125 boys will be given admission in class 9th. In this way, a total of 2000 students will be provided free residential education and coaching.
The officials of Tribal Development Department informed that the students taking admission in these residential schools would have access to free of cost education from class 9th to 12th. In addition, the students will also be provided free coaching of various competitive exams such as PMT PET, NSTE, JEE Main/Advance, AIIMS, NEET, CA/CS, CLAT, NDA etc. by reputed coaching institutes. Officials further informed that through these four soon-to-be-established Prayas Residential Schools in the state, a total of 2000 students will be benefitted under Rajiv Gandhi Bal Bhavishya Suraksha Prayas Avaasiy Vidyalay Yojana.
