Chief Minister honored teachers on Teachers’ Day

Chief Minister Shri Bhapesh Baghel has said that all possible efforts are being made by the State Government to make the coming generation strong ideologically and educationally. The Chief Minister expressed his views to this effect while addressing the teacher’s award ceremony held at Bemetara today. In Bemetara district, on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, 37th Teacher Award Ceremony was organized at Krishi Upaj Mandi, Bemetara.
Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that a historical and better tradition of honoring teachers on Teachers’ Day has been started 37 years ago in Bemetara. Appreciating the efforts of the organizing committee to maintain this tradition of honoring teachers, he said that in this dignified program its former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the then Speaker of the Lok Sabha Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, Governor and High Court judges will participate in this dignified program. They have enhanced the beauty of the program, due to which the name of Chhattisgarh including Bemetara district has become proud. It is my good fortune that I have participated in today’s program.
The Chief Minister said that today is the era of competition, it is necessary to know the global language English. For this reason, the government has started Swami Atmanand English Medium School in the state. First 51 schools were started. After this 279 schools are running. 422 schools will be opened from the next academic session. In this way the total number of Swami Atmanand schools in the state will be 501. 10 thousand teachers will be recruited in these schools. The Chief Minister said that keeping in view the demand received from the villagers during the meeting program in different districts of the state, a provision of Rs. 500 crore has been made for the maintenance of the schools, decoration and construction of the shelter etc. Mr. Baghel said that land would be reserved for sports ground in every village. Due to which a better environment is created for education as well as sports in the state. Chhattisgarhi will be taught one day a week in schools. Apart from this, in Bastar and Surguja divisions, studies will be done in the local dialect of that zone. The Chief Minister said that now one subject in Swami Atmanand School will be taught in Sanskrit also. We have made arrangements to open 5000 kindergartens in the state.
The Chief Minister said that the tradition of Guru Shishya is going on since ancient times. Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram and Shri Krishna had received education in the Gurukul itself. It has changed with the passage of time. Knowledge must be acquired from those who get it. Knowledge can be taken from younger or older than yourself, it has no age limit, knowledge does not decrease but increases by sharing.
Home Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu said that I am well acquainted with the glorious teacher honor ceremony of Bemetara. It is a matter of happiness that college children are also being included from this year. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the State Government is opening Swami Atmanand Schools in Hindi and English medium in the state to bring about qualitative improvement in the level of education. The fees for competitive examinations have also been waived by the government.
Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that the presence of the Chief Minister in Bemetara’s historic Teachers’ Day function is a matter of good fortune for all of us. Today, on the occasion of Teacher’s Day, we are honoring the teachers. He said that teachers have been given the status of Guru. Just as Brahma ji is considered the creator of life. In the same way, the Guru molds the disciples, so that the disciple attains height in life and continues to move forward. The work of keeping the state’s art culture alive, intact and protected is being done by the Chief Minister. This is a good initiative.
MLA and patron of the organizing committee Shri Ashish Chhabra said that since 1986, the then MLA Shri Ravinder Verma had started a glorious tradition by forming a committee, which is continuing. The MLA greeted the teachers and wished the children a bright future. During the program, retired teachers were honored with shawls, shriphal and mementoes and meritorious children were honored by wearing medals and citations.

State Backward Classes Commission Chairman Mr. Thaneshwar Sahu, former MLA Pradeep Choubey, Laxman Chandrakar, Divisional Commissioner Durg Mr. Mahadev Kavre, Collector Mr. Jitendra Kumar Shukla, Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh Chhawai and other officials, media representatives and dignitaries were present.
