Farming has now become a very profitable business due to the many farmer friendly programs being run by the government in the state. This is to say of the farmer Mr. Vinod Gupta, resident of village Loing.
During the state-wide meeting-meeting campaign, farmer Mr. Gupta happily informed this to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who reached village Loing under Raigad block. Meanwhile, other farmers and villagers of the area also appreciated the farmer friendly policies in the state. Farmer Shri Gupta further informed that as a result of the facilities being provided to the farmers by the state government in Chhattisgarh, we have started getting ample opportunities to move forward. I myself belong to a farming family, who after retiring from government service, rejoined farming by taking advantage of the facilities being provided to the farmers in the state. Due to this, my spare time is being used well in agriculture and has started earning a lot. At the same time, seeing this, young unemployed people of the area including the neighborhood are getting attracted and are coming forward to take maximum benefits by joining agriculture.
During the meeting with Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, farmer Mr. Gupta told that as a result of the ambitious ‘Godhan Nyay Yojana’ of the state government, at present I am selling one quintal of cow dung every day in Gauthan. Which is 200 rupees per day. This has encouraged me to take up farming as well as animal husbandry. In this, taking advantage of the schemes of the government, the work of cow rearing is also being done easily and an amount of Rs 600 is available every day from the sale of milk. Similarly, full benefits of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana are being received. In this, the additional benefit of the amount being given by the state government as input assistance has also started coming.
Mr. Gupta told that I have 10 acres of farm land of my own. Out of this, paddy crop is taken by me in 6 acres and horticulture has been done in the remaining 4 acres of Tikra field with the help of Horticulture Department. In this also, along with the benefit of horticulture crop, additional benefit of input assistance of Rs.9000 per acre is being given under Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. He informed that at present mango, banana, apple plum and oil palm saplings have been planted in one acre each under horticulture crop. Due to this, an annual income of 70 to 80 thousand rupees is being earned from banana cultivation.
Similarly, an annual income of 50 thousand rupees has been started from mango and about 40 to 50 thousand rupees from apple plum. He said that the annual income of about one lakh rupees is expected to be generated from oil palm cultivation in the coming year. In this way, with the programs being run by the state government in the interest of farmers in Chhattisgarh, farming has become a very profitable business and due to this, we farmers have started getting ample opportunities to move forward.
