Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel today participated in Shri Krishna Janmotsav and Dahi Handi festival organized on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami at Gudhiyari Ground, Srinagar Road. During this, they wished Lord Krishna for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state by breaking the dahi handi. Chief Minister Shri Baghel also rewarded the participants of Dahi Handi competition here. 

Chief MinisterBaghel said that Shri Krishna Janmotsav has an important place in our Sanatan culture. According to this holy tradition, the festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated with great enthusiasm in the country and the world today. Chief Minister Shri Baghel further said that we all need to imbibe the important teachings given by Lord Shri Krishna through Gita. He himself lived the things he preached. They truly teach us the art of living. Lord Krishna had also given the biggest teaching that it is religion to fight against unrighteousness and injustice. 

Chief Minister i Baghel said that we always find Lord Krishna in the midst of nature. In such a situation, today on the occasion of his birth anniversary, our government has started an important ‘Krishna Kunj’ scheme to save trees of religious, cultural, environmental importance in the state and to maintain closeness with them. Through ‘Krishna Kunj’, the coming generations will be able to understand the importance of nature and trees easily and will also be inspired to preserve them. Parliamentary Secretary Shri Vikas Upadhyay and MLA Shri Satyanarayan Sharma also addressed the program. On this occasion MLA Smt. Anita Yogendra Sharma and senior citizens Sr. Sunder Jogi, Basant Agarwal and a large number of devotees were present.
