Visiting the Mahasamund

The Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Dr. Girish Chandel visited the Agricultural College and Research Center and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mahasamund run under the University. On the occasion of Mahasamund’s stay, Dr. Chandel observed and appreciated the research works conducted in Mahasamund, Agricultural College and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, various activities and fields. During the visit, he advised the officers and scientists to prepare and work on such an action plan so that the income of the farmers could be increased. During this, he also visited the research laboratories located in the Agricultural College and Research Center, Mahasamund. On this occasion, he inaugurated the newly constructed Para Mushroom Production and Seed Processing Unit at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mahasamund. On this occasion Collector Mr. Nilesh Kumar Kshirsagar, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University’s Managing Board Member Mrs. Valri Chandrakar, Director Extension Dr. P.K. Chandrakar, Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat, Mahasamund, Shri Sachidanand Alok, Dean of the college Dr. Anurag and progressive farmers were present.
    Took a meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mahasamund, Raipur and Durg on the occasion of the visit of Vice Chancellor Dr. Girish Chandel to Mahasamund. He said that Indira Gandhi Agricultural University is soon preparing to bring a farmer-friendly scheme in collaboration with the Central Government, State Government and Seed Corporation. So that the farmers of the state do not face any problem in selling their produce and they can get fair price for it. He said that soon seed processing unit would be started in Krishi Vigyan Kendras so that seeds of various crops would be made available to the farmers in the name of “Indira Brand”. In the meeting, Mahasamund Collector Shri Nilesh Kumar assured that the district administration would provide all possible help to Krishi Vigyan Kendra for various schemes useful to farmers. Other guests present on the occasion also gave farmer-friendly suggestions. In the meeting of Scientific Advisory Committee, Dr. S.K. Verma, Dr. S.S. Chandravanshi and Dr. Vijay Jain gave detailed information about the activities being done in their respective centers and programs for farmers. Senior scientists of Director Extension Services Mrs. Deepti Jha and Mrs. Jyoti Bhatt also participated in this meeting.-
