New delhi Draupadi Murm. u will be the 15th President of the country. She is the first tribal and second woman President of the country to reach this highest constitutional post. National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Draupadi defeated United Progressive Alliance (UPA) candidate Yashwant Sinha in the third round of counting in the counting which started at 11 am on Thursday.

Murmu got the required 5 lakh 43 thousand 261 votes in the third round itself. He got 5 lakh 77 thousand 777 votes in the third round. Yashwant Sinha could collect only 2 lakh 61 thousand 62 votes. It includes votes from 20 states including Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs. The counting of the rest of the states is going on. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and JP Nadda reached Murmu’s house and congratulated him.

Congratulating Murmu, PM Modi said – India has written history. As the country celebrates the nectar festival of independence, the daughter of a tribal community born in a remote part of eastern India has been elected president. Congratulations to Draupadi Murmu. President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also congratulated Murmu.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself reached his house to congratulate Draupadi Murmu’s victory. BJP national president JP Nadda was also present with Modi.
Yashwant Sinha concedes defeat, congratulates Murmu. On the other hand, Yashwant Sinha also accepted defeat. He said- I congratulate Draupadi Murmu on her victory. The country hopes that as the 15th President of the Republic, she will act as the custodian of the Constitution without fear or favour.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also extended his best wishes to Murmu. Said- Congratulations to Murm for registering an effective victory in the presidential election. She has been active for public welfare in villages, poor, deprived as well as in slums. Today she rose from among them to the highest constitutional post. This is the strength of Indian democracy. In the capital Delhi, BJP workers gathered in large numbers during the counting itself to celebrate Murmu’s victory. BJP is going to take out a rally across the country regarding this victory.
First Round Counting: Murmu gets 540 votes and Sinha 208 MPs
According to Rajya Sabha Secretary General PC Modi, the counting of votes of MPs was completed at 2 pm. Draupadi Murmu got 540 votes in this. Their total value is 3 lakh 78 thousand. Yashwant Sinha got the votes of 208 MPs. Their vote value is 1 lakh 45 thousand 600. A total of 15 votes of MPs were rejected. According to sources, 17 MPs have done cross voting.
Second round of counting: Murmu got 809 votes, Sinha got 329 votes in 10 states
Even in the count of the first 10 states, there was a long gap of figures between Murmu and Sinha. There were total 1138 valid votes in these states, whose value is 1 lakh 49 thousand 575. Of these, Murmu got 809 votes. Their value is 1 lakh 5 thousand 299. Yashwant Sinha got 329 votes whose total value is 44 Thousand 276.

These 10 states include the votes of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jharkhand, besides Andhra Pradesh. Of these, there are BJP and coalition governments in 7 states. Congress and its allies have governments in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. Jaganmohan Reddy is the CM in Andhra Pradesh, who had announced his support to the NDA.Third round of counting: Murmu got 812 votes and Yashwant Sinha got 521 votes
There was also a big difference of votes between Murmu and Sinha in the counting of 10 states of the third round. There are total 1,333 valid votes in these states, whose value is 1 lakh 65 thousand 664. Of these, Murmu got 812 votes and Sinha got 521 votes. These 10 states include the votes of Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha and Punjab.There is also an atmosphere of gaiety in Draupadi Murmu’s Maika Uparvada and in-laws Paharpur located in Rairangpur.
