Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel will release an amount of Rs 7 crore 48 lakh online to the cattle rearing villagers, women groups associated with Gauthans and Gauthan committees under the Godhan Nyay Yojana through a virtual program organized in the Vidhan Sabha building on July 20, from July 1 to 15. Till July, Rs 2.69 crore has been paid in lieu of cow dung purchased from cattle rearing villagers, farmers, landless in Gauthans, Rs 2.88 crore to Gauthan committees and Rs 1.91 crore to women’s groups. Under Godhan Nyay Yojana, Rs 293 crore 94 lakh has been paid to the beneficiaries in the state so far. After payment of Rs 10.84 crore on July 20, this figure will be Rs 301 crore 42 lakh.
Godhan Nyay Yojana is the only such scheme in the country and the world, under which cow dung is being purchased at the rate of Rs 2 a kg in the Gauthans of Chhattisgarh state. 150.75 crore has also been paid to villagers selling cow dung in lieu of cow dung purchased till July 15 in Gauthans. After payment of Rs 2.69 crore to cow dung vendors on July 20, this figure will increase to Rs 153.44 crore. An amount of Rs 143.19 crore has been paid so far to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups. This figure will increase to Rs 147.99 crore after payment of Rs 2.88 crore to Gauthan committees and Rs 1.91 crore to self-help groups.
In Gauthans, vermicompost, super compost, super compost plus and other products are being prepared on a large scale from cow dung purchased under Godhan Nyay Yojana by women groups. 16 lakh 81 thousand quintals of vermi compost and more than 5 lakh 16 thousand quintals of super compost and 18 thousand 924 quintals of super compost plus manure have been manufactured by women’s groups, which through societies are provided to various departments of the government and farmers at a concessional rate. is being supplied. Apart from manure from cow dung, women’s groups are earning profit by manufacturing and selling go-casts, lamps, incense sticks, idols and other materials. Apart from this, vegetable and mushroom production, poultry, goat, fish farming and animal husbandry along with other income-oriented activities are being conducted by women groups in Gauthans. Due to which the women groups have received an income of Rs 74 crore 68 lakh so far. There are 13,969 women self-help groups directly associated with Gauthans in the state, with a membership of 83,874. Electricity generation has been started in Gauthans by purchasing cow dung.
It is noteworthy that the beginning of making natural paint from cow dung has also started in Hirapur-Jarwai Gauthan of Raipur. According to the intention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Gauthans are being developed as Rural Industrial Parks. In order to promote income-oriented activities, agricultural and forest produce based processing units, units for manufacturing natural paint from cow dung are being established. The work of setting up of mini rice mills and other types of units including oil mills in 227 Gauthans and Dal Mills in 251 Gauthans is in progress.
For the conservation and welfare of cow in the state, construction of Gauthans is being done at a rapid pace in the villages. There is better management of livestock, treatment and free fodder and water in Gauthans. So far, approval has been given for construction of Gauthans in 10,624 villages in the State, out of which 8408 Gauthans have been constructed and 1798 Gauthans are under construction. The self-supporting Gauthans have so far purchased cow dung worth Rs.16 crore 47 lakhs from their own funds. More than 2 lakh 11 thousand rural, animal husbandry farmers are getting benefited from Godhan Nyay Yojana. Women make up 45.99 percent of those earning extra income by selling cow dung. More than one lakh 37 thousand landless families are getting benefited from this scheme.
