Women’s groups will get one rupee and cooperative societies will get a bonus of 10 paise per kg of compost.

About Rs.17.64 crore will be paid to women groups as bonus and Rs.1.76 crore to cooperative societies.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has given a big gift to the sisters of women self-help groups who play an important role in promoting organic farming in the state by manufacturing Vermi Compost, Super Compost and Super Plus Compost in Gauthans. Out of the compost produced by women self-help groups, incentive amount will be given at the rate of one rupee per kg and 10 paise to cooperative societies in lieu of compost sold till July 7, 2022. Regarding distribution of bonus, an order was issued by the Ministry of Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare and Department of Biotechnology on 19th July today.
It is worth mentioning that the Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel had expressed his intention to give bonus in lieu of the compost sold till July 7, 2022, to the women self-help groups making compost by joining the Gauthans. In this regard, various orders have been issued by the Ministry of Agriculture in compliance of the decision taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on July 7, 2022 under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister. Under this order, in lieu of the quantity of about 17.64 lakh quintals sold till July 7, 2022, out of the compost produced by women groups, an amount of Rs.17 crore 64 lakh to women’s groups and Rs. will be given. This amount of incentive will be done by the Chhattisgarh government from the budget provision of Godhan Nyay Yojana. There is a provision of Rs 175 crore in the budget for the year 2022-23 for Godhan Nyay Yojana.
It is to be mentioned here that Godhan Nyay Yojana was started in the state on 20th July 2020 from the day of Hareli festival. Under this scheme, cow dung is being procured from cattle rearing villagers for Rs 2 a kg in Gauthans. So far, more than 76 lakh quintals of cow dung has been procured, due to which more than 16.81 lakh quintals of vermi compost, more than 5.16 lakh super compost and 18 thousand 924 quintals super plus compost have been produced by women groups, in which Total of all three types of compost from 17. 64 lakhs have been sold. In lieu of this incentive money will be given to women groups and primary cooperative societies. It is worth mentioning that women self-help groups get a dividend of Rs 3, 27 paise per kg for the manufacture of vermi compost and 65 paise per kg packaging. Women’s groups will get additional benefit by getting a bonus of Re 1 per kg of compost sold till July 7, 2022. Thus, women groups are getting Rs. 4 92 paise per kg including dividend of compost manufacturing, packaging and incentive amount, which is close to 50 percent of the selling price of vermi compost.
