According to the intention of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, on July 28, “Hareli-Tihar” will be specially celebrated in all government and aided schools. In connection with the traditional celebration of Hareli festival in the state by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Secretary School Education Dr. S. Bharathidasan has issued detailed guidelines to all the Collectors and District Education Officers. It may be mentioned here that in the meeting of the Council of Ministers held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister on 7th July, a detailed discussion was held regarding the traditional celebration of Hareli festival in the state. The Chief Minister had given instructions to organize Gedi dance competition among the students on the occasion of Hareli festival in all the schools of the state.
Secretary School Education Dr. S. According to the instructions issued by Bharathidasan, a special event will be organized for Hareli festival in all primary, pre-secondary, high school and higher secondary schools, ashram schools and hostels etc. with the help of local public representatives, school management committee, local art and music troupes. There will be a ‘Gedi dance competition’ among the students. The participants, who secured first, second and third place in the competition, will be given a citation by rewarding them, especially in the hands of local public representatives and progressive farmers’ representatives who have played a significant role in the field of agriculture.
In the letter issued by the Secretary of School Education, it has been said that the state government is continuously making efforts in the direction of preserving and promoting the cultural diversity and glorious traditions of Chhattisgarh. In this series, for the past years, the major festival of the state’s agricultural culture ‘Hareli’ is being celebrated with prominence throughout the state. In order to celebrate ‘Hareli festival’ with enthusiasm and to ensure maximum participation of the people in it, a government holiday has also been declared by the state government. It is also worth mentioning here that with the aim of reviving the fertility of the soil, the Mati Pujan Maha Abhiyan was also started by the Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel from May 3, 2022, on Akshaya Tritiya. In relation to the development of kitchen gardens in schools, detailed instructions have already been issued by the Director Public Instruction Directorate.
Collectors and District Education Officers have also been instructed to organize seminars on ‘Environmental Protection and Importance of Hareli’ in collaboration with Agriculture and Forest Department at district level and block headquarters on Hareli. On this occasion, advanced farmers, experimental farmers, who have made remarkable contribution in the field of agriculture, will be specially honored. It has also been mentioned in the issued instructions that instructions were given by the Principal Secretary School Education to prepare natural boundary wall in schools from local resources. In this sequence, on the day of Hareli, a special campaign should also be conducted to plant trees on the side of the boundary wall of such schools where there is no boundary wall. Apart from this, arrangements should also be ensured for planting fruit-shady plants in the school premises and adoption for its protection and care.
