With the increase in excise duty, there will be no effect on the retail sale rate of liquor, that is, the retail sale rate will remain unchanged. This amount of increase will be subsumed in the other factor included in the retail sale rate.
It has been informed by the officials of the Excise Department that the State Government’s ambitious plan for the development and maintenance of Gothan will be reimbursed by the Excise Department at the retail sale rate of country and foreign liquor (spirit) (minimum duty rate). Additional excise duty has been imposed at the rate of five rupees per piece (bottle, half, pav).
Keeping in view the need for additional funds for the expansion and successful implementation of Gauthan and other development activities, the cabinet meeting was held on July 14, 2022, at the retail sale rate of country and foreign liquor (spirit) (minimum duty rate). It has been decided to impose additional excise duty at the rate of Rs.10 instead of Rs.5.
