Raipur: Polling material reached Raipur for presidential election, under the guard of armed forces in a sealed strong-room ballot box

The team of two officers who went from Raipur has brought nine types of material from the Election Commission of India for voting     

Election material has reached Raipur from New Delhi for the election of 16th President of India to be held on 18th July. Assistant Returning Officer Mr. Dinesh Trivedi and Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Vinay Kumar Agrawal reached Raipur on 13th July by regular plane carrying ballot boxes, ballot papers and other materials. Amidst tight security at Swami Vivekananda Airport in Mana, he was taken off the plane and taken to the strong-room in Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha. The ballot box to be used for the Presidential election was brought to Raipur from the Election Commission of India, New Delhi by buying a special ticket in the plane and keeping it on the seat. According to the instructions of the Commission, for the safety of the ballot box, it was forbidden to keep it in the Check-in Baggage.
On reaching Raipur airport, the polling material was safely escorted by the state police to the strong-room located in the assembly building. The strong-room was sealed in the presence of Mr. Dinesh Sharma, Secretary, Vidhan Sabha and senior officials. The ballot box will be kept safe in the strong-room under the guard of the armed forces till the date fixed for voting on July 18, before the commencement of the poll. The entire process, from receiving the polling material in New Delhi to its arrival in Raipur, keeping it in the strong room and sealing it, has been videographed by the officials.                                                                                                                                                                      put the ballot box on                                                                                                                                                                   

Officials have brought these nine materials for the Presidential election

Assistant Returning Officer Mr. Dinesh Trivedi and Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Vinay Kumar Agrawal, who went to New Delhi to collect material for Presidential election from Election Commission of India, have brought nine types of material. These include steel ballot boxes placed inside wooden boxes, keys of both boxes, ballot papers, authorized list of members of the Electoral College, badges for the Chief Electoral Officer, Assistant Returning Officers, personnel on duty for voting and polling agents of candidates, Violet ink pens for marking votes, rubber stamps for the presiding officer and posters giving election instructions and information on the use of the pen.                The team has brought nine types of material from the Election Commission of India for voting.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              For the election of the President, a polling station has been set up in the Vidhan Sabha building complex in Chhattisgarh, where arrangements have been made to vote for 90 members of the state’s Vidhan Sabha. Electors from other states can also cast their vote at this polling station with the special approval of the Election Commission of India. Polling stations are set up in the national capital New Delhi and each state capital for the election of the President. The counting of votes will be done on July 21 in New Delhi.
