In the Naxal-affected areas of Bastar division of the state, the facility of communication network has started expanding rapidly. The communication service is being repaired and expanded by the government through Universal Service Obligation Fund in the inaccessible, unreachable, sensitive places of Vananchal, where there is no network, new mobile towers are being installed and the mobile network is being upgraded. Work is also being done. So that no person can remain untouched by internet facility.
Presently everyone needs a medium of communication. Mobile and internet have become an important part of people’s life today. The work of expansion and strengthening of communication facilities is being done rapidly by the administration in Sukma district. There are many areas in Sukma which did not have mobile network for years. Due to which the villagers living here were unaware of the progress of the country and the world. They did not even know about mobile phones and smartphones. Online transactions are a far cry. The young generation of the new generation was associated with smart phones, but due to lack of good network and signal, they were not familiar with the world of internet.
Today the circumstances are changing. In order to improve the communication system in the district by Universal Service Obligation Fund, on the instructions of the government, mobile towers are being set up in such areas of the district where there is no access to any network. Within the last one month, mobile towers have been installed at four places in the district. In which three towers are installed in sensitive areas of the district. Mobile towers have been installed in Minpa and Elmagunda of Konta block.
Villagers are excited about the installation of mobile tower at Kumakoleng in Chhindgarh block of Sukma district. On the other hand, exchange of information has become easy with the installation of mobile tower at Geedmanala in Sukma block. There is enthusiasm among the rural people. He says that earlier to talk to loved ones, to call an ambulance or in case of emergency had to climb mountains or travel many kilometers, then it was difficult to talk. They have been facilitated by the installation of mobile towers. For the expansion of communication system in the district, survey work of no network areas is being done. In which 42 mobile towers are being installed in the first phase by Universal Service Obligation Fund.
