Raipur: Chief Minister’s big decision to encourage animal husbandry and dairy business

Action plan will be prepared for the consumption of milk produced in Gauthans in villages and proper arrangement of fodder for animals. 

The Chief Minister gave instructions in the program of distribution of funds to the beneficiaries of Godhan Nyay Yojana and State Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has directed the officers to prepare an action plan to ensure that the milk produced in the Gauthans is consumed in the villages and to ensure proper arrangements for fodder for the cattle. He said that the way farmers are getting benefited from Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Similarly, due to the consumption of milk produced from dairies operating in Gauthans and the arrangement of fodder for cattle, cattle farmers will be benefited and will be encouraged to take up animal husbandry. He said that arrangements should be made to provide boiled milk to the children under the mid-day meal program in the Anganwadi centers and schools of the villages with the help of the district administration. With this, the cattle farmers will get a fair price for the milk. Rural milkmen will be encouraged for animal husbandry. Cow-mother will be served. The nutritional level will be better by increasing the availability of milk in rural areas. Chief Minister Shri Baghel instructed the Chief Secretary to prepare an action plan for this.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel gave these instructions while addressing a virtual program organized for distribution of funds to the beneficiaries of Godhan Nyay Yojana and grant money to the beneficiaries under the State Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme at his residence office here today. In the program, the Chief Minister released online an amount of Rs. Out of this amount, Rs 3.69 crore was paid in the Gauthans of the state from June 15 to June 30 in lieu of cow dung purchased from cattle rearing villagers, farmers and landless. 4.31 crore to Gauthan committees and 2.84 crores to women’s groups. Similarly, under the State Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme, 25 beneficiaries were given 13. The grant amount of Rs 63 lakh was paid in the account of the beneficiaries. During the program, through video conferencing, he discussed with the beneficiaries doing animal husbandry in Potgaon Gauthan of Kanker district, Bolbola Gauthan of Kondagaon, Purina Khapri Gauthan of Balodabazar, Mohalai Gauthan of Durg and Bansian Gauthan of Raigad and the grants made available to them by the state government. Also inquired about the amount, the rate of milk available in the villages.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the beneficiaries are getting different rates of milk in different villages. The system of milk distribution in Anganwadi and schools will bring uniformity in the rate of milk. He said that after six months an additional cow would be given to the beneficiaries doing dairy business in Gauthans from another scheme. Referring to the visit-meeting campaign, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that changes are being seen in the villages due to the production of vermi compost in Gauthans and other ongoing activities. The income of the people has increased and a new confidence has arisen in them. He said that due to the success of Godhan Nyay Yojana, there has been an increase of 44 percent in the number of Gauthans in the state. There has been an increase in the quantity of cow dung purchased and the amount of cow dung purchased during the year. Under the scheme, 75 lakh 38 thousand quintals of cow dung has been purchased so far and the villagers and cattle owners who sell cow dung in Gauthans have been given Rs 150 in lieu of cow dung so far. 75 crore has been paid. So far Rs 143.19 crore has been paid to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups. More than 2 lakh 11 thousand rural, livestock farmers are getting benefited from Godhan Nyay Yojana. Women make up 45.97 percent of those earning extra income by selling cow dung. More than one lakh 33 thousand landless families are getting benefited from this scheme. Women self-help groups have so far earned an income of Rs.72 crore 19 lakh through the livelihood activities of Gauthans. 97 percent of the population is women. More than one lakh 33 thousand landless families are getting benefited from this scheme. Women self-help groups have so far earned an income of Rs.72 crore 19 lakh through the livelihood activities of Gauthans. 97 percent of the population is women. More than one lakh 33 thousand landless families are getting benefited from this scheme. Women self-help groups have so far earned an income of Rs.72 crore 19 lakh through the livelihood activities of Gauthans.
Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey while addressing the program said that 50 percent concession in electricity bill to Gauthans and Rural Industrial Parks and incentive amount on sale of compost to Gauthans, Self-help groups and Primary Co-operative Societies and annual compost sales. But the decision taken in the cabinet today to give bonus amount will encourage the establishment of new industrial units in Gauthans. He said that so far 16 lakh 43 thousand quintals of vermi compost has been produced in Gauthans, out of which 13 lakh 69 thousand quintals of vermi compost have been distributed to farmers and various departments. In the Gauthans 2. 89 lakh quintals of vermi compost is available in cowsheds. Production of Vermicompost in Gauthans has helped to a great extent in dealing with the shortage of chemical fertilizers. About 2 lakh 94 thousand farmers have taken vermi compost. He also informed that 3089 Gauthans of the state have become self-supporting. Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh informed about the progress of Godhan Nyay Yojana. He also gave a presentation regarding the action plan for purchase and production of cow urine in Gauthans.
