Presentation before Steering Committee on School Education, Teacher Education, ECCE and Adult Education

 In the State Steering Committee meeting regarding the development of the State’s Curriculum Framework in the State Council of Educational Research and Training, Raipur, former administrative officer and educationist Dr. Sushil Trivedi suggested that the primary education of children should be in the mother tongue. The three-language formula should be implemented in education, along with language teaching, communication skills should be emphasized. In the context of adult education, he said that under adult education, this program should be added to forest produce centers for Narva, Garwa, Ghurwa, Bari and Vananchal areas. Dr. Trivedi said that there is a need to change the method of assessment, keeping in view the diversity of the state, an assessment plan should be prepared. All the departments related to elementary education should work unitedly. 

It is noteworthy that the curriculum framework is a document guiding every aspect of school education. According to the New Education Policy 2020, four curricula- school education, ECCE, teacher-education and adult education are to be developed. Additional Director of NCERT Dr. Yogesh Shivhare expressed confidence that the state’s curriculum would be prepared according to the need and culture of the state. He said that the curriculum should be prepared in such a way that every child gets proper opportunities for development.

Emphasis is being laid on development of every aspect of elementary education in the state. For this, Kindergarten is being organized in the state, so that children can master elementary literacy and numeracy and strengthen the foundation of their learning. A similar strategy will have to be decided for the education of further classes. So that the children can achieve the desired level. 

 Kalpana Choudhary of NH Goyal School said that the concept of school complex would prove to be effective in relation to the choice of subjects and vocational skills of the children. Presentation was given on 4 subjects before the State Steering Committee. On the subject of ECCE i.e. Child Education Care, Mr. Sunil Mishra gave effective training on school education, Ms. Neelam Arora, teacher-education subject, Mr. Alok Sharma and Assistant Director of State Literacy Mission Mr. Prashant Pandey gave effective training on adult education.

In the meeting Professor Ms. Pushpa Kispotta, Joint Director of Department of Women and Child Development Mr. Dildar Singh Maravi, Mr. C.D. of Ravi Shankar University. Agashe and Mr. Ashok Pradhan, Deputy Secretary, Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, Mr. J.K. Agarwal, RK of Diet Raipur. Verma, Ms. Shikha Verma of Divyang College, former Assistant Professor Mr. Utpal Chakraborty, Mr. Sudhir Srivastava, Mr. N.K. Principal, Principal of Education College Raipur-Bilaspur, representatives of Sanskrit Vidya Mandalam, Madrasa Board, Azim Premji Foundation and Learning Language Foundation and other members of the committee were present.
