Raipur: Salute to Rita Mandavi’s courage

Spread the love

Raipur, 19 May 2022. People are saluting the spirit of Rita Mandavi, a normal looking woman from Dhur Naxalite area. Even after losing her husband in Naxalite violence, she is not only taking care of her family but she is also playing the role of a sarpanch firmly. Rita Mandavi, who hails from the Muria tribe, also spends the honorarium of the sarpanch for the people of the village. After the departure of her husband, Rita was worried about only one thing that how her children would be educated, but now with the help of the Chief Minister, Rita’s worry has also gone away, due to which she has become stronger than before.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has provided financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh to Rita Mandavi, a victim of Naxal violence during her stay in Kutru area in a state-wide meet-and-greet program. After getting the assistance from the Chief Minister, Rita Mandavi says that she will spend this money for the education and better future of her children and will dedicate her life to social service and making people aware as before.
Rita Mandavi had a laughing family in Addavali village of Bijapur district. Her husband Ghanshyam Mandavi was always alert to integrate the tribal society into the mainstream. Always used to motivate people to take advantage of the schemes and programs of the government. That’s the only thing that upset the Naxalites. One day he was killed by the Naxalites.
The Naxalites felt that by doing this they would break the courage of the village, the society and the family of Ghanshyam. But the Naxalites probably did not know that the spirit of Rita Mandavi, playing the role of mother, wife and sarpanch, is much bigger. Instead of being afraid after the death of her husband, Rita stood up more firmly. Rita, along with her 4-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter, continued to do the same work that she used to do with her late husband, making people aware and taking the plans of the government from door to door.
