Raipur, 21 April 2022. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 33 road projects of total length 1017 km in Chhattisgarh costing Rs.9240 crore. The function was organized by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India and the National Highways Authority of India at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College in the capital Raipur.
With the construction of these roads, the connectivity with the neighboring states of Odisha, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh will be better. A smooth road network will be developed for the backward areas of the state. This will save fuel, travel time, distance and overall transportation cost. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel urged the Union Minister Shri Gadkari to give approval for various road projects of Chhattisgarh at the function. On which Shri Gadkari assured to approve most of the projects. Chief Minister Shri Baghel expressed his gratitude to Shri Nitin Gadkari for giving heartfelt approval to the road projects of Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Shri Baghel inaugurated three roads of Chhattisgarh- Raigarh-Gharghoda-Dharamjaygarh-Pathal village road, length 75 km, Ambikapur-Vadraffnagar-Bahni-Rankoot-Banaras road, length 110.60 km, Pandariya-Bajag-Gadasarai road, length 37 km. Under Bharat Mala Project, Union Minister Shri Gadkari assured to include these roads in Bharat Mala Project-2.
With a view to provide easy and safe transport facility to the general public on the national highways, Mr. Baghel said under the construction work of National Highway No. 30, Raipur to Dhamtari Four lane was completed by the State Government. Approval of 10 km service road from Raipur to Shadani Darbar, construction of flyover between Tatibandh Chowk to Magneto Mall in Raipur city, Vidhan Sabha from village Dhaneli on National Highway 30, enroute the road leading to Sarangarh via Balodabazar. Urging the Assembly to declare this part of Jora (NH.53) as National Highway and to connect it with .H.53, saying that this would make available the National Highway from Bilaspur to Nava Raipur, Mahasamund, Sambalpur. . Chief Minister Shri Baghel has declared Ram Van Gaman Path length 1000 km as National Highway, Chandrapur-Kharsia-Pathalgaon road as National Highway,
Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that the total length of National Highways in Chhattisgarh is 3525 km. Out of this, 2447 km is being maintained and constructed by Public Works Department and 1078 km by NHAI. He gave approval for construction of Champa-Urga-Korba road, Pali-Katghora road, Mungeli-Pondi road, Jhalmala-Sherpar-Manpur road, Abhanpur-Pond road, Madangmuda to Devbhog road and under Bharat Mala and Economic Corridor scheme. Thanked Union Minister Shri Gadkari for including Raipur-Visakhapatnam road, Bilaspur-Urga-Pathalgaon road, Champa-Korba road.
The Chief Minister said that in the projects of National Highway, the State Government is mainly responsible for the works of land acquisition, forest land diversion, utility shifting, to complete all these works on time, a High Power Committee was constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. by which the progress of works is reviewed every month. So that N.H. projects to be completed on time. He also informed that in the Annual Plan for the year 2022-23, an annual plan of Rs 2100 crore has been presented by the Public Works Department for the works of National Highways.
Addressing the function, Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari said that Chhattisgarh is continuously moving ahead in the race of development. Good roads are the basis of prosperity and prosperity of any country and state. On the request of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, he announced Rs 300 crore for construction of ROB in Chhattisgarh and said that in addition to this, Rs 400 crore would be given to Chhattisgarh in the year 2022-23 for ROB. In this way total Rs 700 crore will be available for ROB in Chhattisgarh. He informed that a plan has been made to develop a logistics park in 200 acres near Arang Pachera. Shri Gadkari said that there are 118 iron and cement industries in Chhattisgarh. With the development of logistics facility, industries will develop and employment opportunities will increase. Union Minister Shri Gadkari said that if N.H. The work of land acquisition and permission in forest areas for various road projects approved and under construction is done expeditiously, So by the year 2024, roads worth about one lakh crore rupees will be constructed in Chhattisgarh. He also said that Chhattisgarh will have roads like America in the coming 5 years. He said that the Central Government has given permission to open ethanol pumps. Ethanol is the fuel of the future. Chhattisgarh has good potential for ethanol production from rice and para. With the production of ethanol, the farmer will become a food provider as well as an energy provider. Referring to the Raipur-Visakhapatnam road, Shri Gadkari said that the work on this road project approved under Bharat Mala Pariyojana Economic Corridor Scheme has started. In the coming time, this path will prove to be the path of development of Chhattisgarh. He said that the Raipur-Visakhapatnam stretch would be reduced by 200 km with a cost of about Rs 16,000 crore. With the construction of this road, connectivity of Chhattisgarh will be made to a good port and the minerals of Chhattisgarh will be available in various parts of the country and the world.
