Raipur: Chhattisgarh’s share again a national award

Raipur, 11 April 2022. Chhattisgarh, which has won many national awards in the last 3 years, has once again shone on the national stage. This time the District Panchayat Kabirdham has been selected for the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Panchayat Empowerment Award-2022 at the national level. Along with District Panchayat Kabirdham, Gram Panchayat Kejedah of Janpad Panchayat Sahaspur Lohara has also been selected for National Panchayat Award. This award will be presented by the Prime Minister on the occasion of National Panchayat Day on 24th April. Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has congratulated the residents of the district on the selection of District Panchayat Kabirdham for the National Panchayat Award.
On being selected for the National Panchayat Award, Collector Kabirdham Shri Ramesh Sharma said that it is the result of tireless hard work that District Panchayat Kabirdham is being honored at the national level. On the other hand, Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Kabirdham, Mr. Sandeep Kumar Agrawal informed that the district has been selected for the National Panchayat Award on the basis of various remarkable works done during the financial year 2020-21. After physical verification, District Panchayat Kabirdham was selected for Panchayat Award at the national level, which is a matter of pride for the district and the state.
It is noteworthy that on the directions of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel ji and Forest, Environment and Housing Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, various remarkable works have been done in the Gram Panchayat areas. Here, a large amount of employment was given to the villagers mainly under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. Women were linked with livelihood promotion. On the other hand, better work was done in all areas like infrastructure development in the gram panchayat area. As a result of this, Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh has been selected for Panchayat Award-2022 at the national level. Similarly, Gram Panchayat Kejedah will be respected at the national level for providing maximum employment to the villagers, expansion of basic facilities and documentation and transparency.

Selection was done due to these achievements:-

1. During the global pandemic Corona period, 28836 families were provided 100 days of employment through Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in the district.
2. Through the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, more than 96 lakh man-days of employment were given to the villagers, which was more than 100 percent of the annual labor budget target.
3. For the promotion of women’s livelihood, the work of community farming is being done in the Gram Panchayat Rajnawagaon and Bamhani. In Rajnawagaon, the women’s group has earned an income of more than Rs 1.80 lakh by producing vegetables. At the same time, an income of Rs 1.40 lakh has been earned by the women’s group of Bamhani Janpad Panchayat Kawardha.
4. There are 158 bank sakhi working in the district, through which the amount of government schemes is being paid by visiting the homes of the beneficiaries. So far more than Rs 34 crore has been paid.
5. A center for selling Chhattisgarhi cuisine named Bhor Kaleva is being run by a women’s group in 7 different places of the district. 75 women are attached to these centers, who are earning an income of 7 thousand to 8 thousand rupees per month.
6. In the financial year 2020-21, 220 Gauthans were constructed out of 468 gram panchayats in the district, in which 1100 nos. of vermi compost tank and 1100 nos. of Nadeb compost tank were constructed. Of these, compost manure is being prepared at the interval of every 4 months. In this way, about 39 thousand 600 tonnes of vermi compost manure is being manufactured every year by both the tanks (vermi/nadeb).
7. Renovation work of Narmada Nala has been done through Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme for the work of water promotion. Due to which the villagers are getting the benefit of irrigation facility by increasing the water level.
8. Under the Pradhan Mantri Micro Irrigation Scheme, the Department of Horticulture and Rurban Mission has established a drip irrigation system to increase the production of vegetables and fruits and to increase water harvesting at the local level. With this technique good production and income of farmers increased and water was saved.
9. The printing press activity is being operated by Gauri Kripa Self-Help Group Rajnawagaon. An income of Rs. 3 lakh 45 thousand has been earned by the group by supplying books of self-help groups of all the development blocks under the district.
10. Jai Budhadev Self-Help Group, Patharra Development Block, Kawardha in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Panchayat Department and Animal Husbandry Department is doing poultry farming of Kadaknath species. With this, women self-help groups have earned an income of Rs. 1 lakh 16 thousand.
