Raipur, 04 April 2022. On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Commissioner Bastar Division, Jagdalpur has been appointed as the nodal officer for coordination with different states for the rehabilitation of migrant people of Bastar region.
In the instructions issued by the State Government, it has been said that the Nodal Officer shall provide the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act 2006 and Scheduled Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Forests) in the border state of Bastar division to Telangana and other provinces. According to the provisions of the Recognition of Rights) Amendment Rules 2012, will coordinate for the rehabilitation of the Scheduled Tribes community. For the rehabilitation action, the Commissioner, Bastar division has been directed to coordinate with the local public representatives and also to issue separate telephone numbers or mobile numbers for easy contact with the migrants. The mobile number for contact will also be uploaded in the government website.
It is noteworthy that a delegation of people of Chhattisgarh who came from Telangana had a discussion with Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office here on Monday. During the meeting, the delegation urged the Chief Minister to settle in a suitable place and provide land for agriculture. On their demand, the Chief Minister said that along with giving land to the people who want to come back to Chhattisgarh, they would be provided with basic facilities including ration shop, school, employment.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has said that the people of Chhattisgarh who went to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh after being displaced from Bastar region Sukma, Bijapur, Dantewada during Salwa Judum, if they want to come back, the state government is ready to welcome them wholeheartedly. A conducive environment will be created for their rehabilitation by making an action plan.
