Raipur, 25 March 2022. Sowing of oilseed crops is in the final stage in the state in the Rabi year 2021-22. So far, different types of oilseed crops have been sown in 2 lakh 33 thousand 510 hectares in the state. Last year, oilseeds crops were cultivated in 2 lakh 17 thousand 730 hectares in the state during Rabi season.
According to the information received from the Agriculture Department, a target of 3 lakh 520 hectares has been set for the cultivation of oilseed crops in the Rabi year 2021-22. Against which sowing has been completed in 2 lakh 33 thousand 510 hectares as on March 21, which is 78 percent of this year’s target. 100% seeding of oilseed crops is expected to be completed in the next one week. This year sowing of mustard, mustard and rapeseed has been done in one lakh 51 thousand 550 hectares. Similarly, sowing of real has been completed in 44 thousand 760 hectares, sesame in 1460 hectares, sunflower in 4160 hectares, safflower in 6040 hectares, groundnut in 25080 hectares and other oilseed crops in 460 hectares.
