Raipur, 05 March 2022. Under the Suraji Gaon Yojna run by the state government, an amount of more than Rs 392 crore has been approved in the annual action plan of CAMPA 2021-22 under Narva Development Program. In this, construction of about 38 lakh ground water conservation related structures is in progress in 8.17 lakh hectare catchment area of 01 thousand 962 small and big drains.
Under the special initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and under the guidance of Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, the task of reviving a large number of water sources, rivers and ponds has been taken for the conservation and promotion of ground water in the forest areas of the state. Is. Under CAMPA’s annual action plan 2021-22, structures related to groundwater harvesting are being constructed in the drains of 30 forest divisions including two national parks, two tiger reserves, one social forestry and one elephant reserve in the state. These water storage structures to be built under the head of Chhattisgarh State Compensatory Afforestation, Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) will ensure the availability of drinking water for the people living in the forest and wild animals. Also, due to water logging in the drain, moisture will remain in the surrounding land. With this, along with the convenience of farming, the source of income and greenery will also increase.
In this regard, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force Shri Rakesh Chaturvedi informed that under the annual action plan of CAMPA 2021-22 under Narva Development Scheme, 96 thousand 850 in 50 drains of Guru Ghasidas National Park, Surguja and Kanger Ghati National Park of Jagdalpur. 13 thousand 559 structures are being constructed in 7 drains. Similarly, in 93 drains of Indravati Tiger Reserve Bijapur, one lakh 80 thousand 847 and more than one lakh structures are being constructed in 52 drains of Achanak Marg Tiger Reserve Lormi. Apart from this, one lakh 23 thousand 580 in 64 drains of Elephant Reserve Surguja and 63 thousand structures are being constructed in 33 drains under Research and Extension Jagdalpur.
Similarly, 64 thousand 775 structures are being constructed in 33 drains of Khairagarh, 38 thousand 678 in 20 drains of Balod, one lakh 54 thousand 475 in 80 drains of Rajnandgaon and one lakh 35 thousand 275 in 75 drains of Kawardha. 96 thousand 850 structures are being constructed in 50 drains of Bilaspur, 2 lakh 48 thousand 516 in 128 drains of Marwahi, one lakh 59 thousand 802 in 83 drains of Korba and 96 thousand 850 in 50 drains of Katghora. 36 thousand 415 structures are being constructed in 19 drains of Raigad, one lakh 65 thousand 613 in 86 drains of Dharamjaygarh, 9 thousand 685 in 5 drains of Janjgir-Champa and 68 thousand 614 in 35 drains of Mungeli.
