Raipur 05 March 2022. Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey presented gold medals to 95 students
Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey today attended the third convocation of Shaheed Mahendra Karma University, Bastar. 95 students were honored with gold medals by the Governor-cum-Chancellor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey on the solemn occasion of the convocation . Also , degrees were awarded to the graduate and post graduate students passed in the year 2019-20 and 2020-21 .

Addressing the convocation, Governor Ms. Uike said that about 75 per cent of the medal recipients are girls , which indicates that daughters are not lagging behind in any field. They are ready to write the story of New India with their efficiency , capability and commitment. Ms. Uike said that the students of Bastar, living in the picturesque lap of nature, remained steadfast towards their goal even in difficult situation like Corona and achieved the desired goal with their tireless hard work and practice.

Ms. Uike said that this university established in tribal-dominated area provided opportunities for higher education to the students from far flung areas. He said that in order to realize the dream of higher education of the tribal youth of the region, there is a need for all to make efforts for the establishment of a central university in Bastar. He talked about making every effort to establish a Central University in Bastar.
The Governor told the young students that all of you are directly connected with the society besides knowing better the geographical , economic and social conditions here. On going out of Bastar, please tell about the simple behavior of the tribals here , the picturesque environment and the gift of beauty given by nature to this region. He said that the opportunity has come for the youth to return something to the society. He appealed to all the youth to discharge their responsibilities and become partners in the progress of the country and the state.
The former Vice Chancellor of Patna University, who was presiding over the program, was present as the keynote speaker . Arun Kumar Sinha described education as a continuously flowing stream. Along with formal education, he said that informal education is very important for personality formation . Vice Chancellor Dr Shailendra Kumar Singh gave information regarding the development taking place in Shaheed Mahendra Karma University on this occasion.
On this occasion MP Smt. Phulodevi Netam , Shri Deepak Baij , Chairman of Bastar Area Tribal Development Authority Shri Lakheshwar Baghel , Parliamentary Secretary Shri Rekhchand Jain , Mayor Smt. Safira Sahu , University lecturers and students were present.
