Raipur : Narva Development Programme: All the work for the year 2019-20 under CAMPA towards completion

Raipur 19 February 2022.  Under the important “Narva Development Program” being run by the State Government under the Suraji Gaon Yojana, an amount of more than Rs 160 crore has been approved in the annual action plan 2019-20 of CAMPA. In this, 12 lakh 24 thousand structures related to groundwater conservation are being constructed in 4.84 lakh hectare watershed area of 863 small and large drains having with the length of 01 thousand 829 km. Out of these structures, construction of 12 lakh 697 structures has been completed by spending an amount of Rs 140 crore so far.

It is worth mentioning that under the special initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, efforts are being made to revive a large number of water bodies, rivers, and ponds for conservation and promotion of groundwater recharge in the forest areas of the state. Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar informed in this regard that these water storage structures to be built under the head of Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) (CAMPA) will ensure the availability of drinking water for the people living in the forest and wild animals. This will also help in retaining moisture of surrounding land due to water filling in drains. This is not only bringing convenience in farming, but also boosting source of income and greenery. 

 

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force Mr. Rakesh Chaturvedi said in this regard that out of 79 thousand 293 structures under construction in Durg circle, construction of 69 thousand 442 structures has been completed so far, under the annual action plan 2019-20 of CAMPA under Narva Development Scheme, with a sanctioned amount of Rs.11 crore 56 lakh. Similarly, 6 lakh 80 thousand 329 structures related to ground water harvesting are being constructed under Bilaspur circle with the sanctioned amount of Rs 43 crore. Of these, construction of 6 lakh 68 thousand 609 structures has been completed by spending an amount of Rs 35 crore so far. Work is in progress for construction of 56 thousand 454 structures under Raipur circle with the sanctioned amount of Rs 17 crore. Of these,56 thousand 421 structures have been completed by spending an amount of Rs 15 crore so far.

Similarly, 2 lakh 78 thousand structures related to ground water conservation are being constructed under Jagdalpur circle with the sanctioned amount of Rs 17 crore. Out of these, construction of all 2 lakh 78 thousand structures has been completed by spending an amount of Rs.16 crore 66 lakh so far. Under the Surguja circle, out of 1 lakh 18 thousand structures under construction with a sanctioned amount of Rs 36 crore, 1 lakh 17 thousand structures have been completed so far. Under the Kanker circle, out of 2 thousand 626 structures under construction with a sanctioned amount of Rs 15 crore, 2 thousand 621 structures have been completed so far. In Achanakmar Tiger Reserve area under Bilaspur circle, out of 6 thousand 85 structures under construction with a sanctioned amount of Rs 10 crore, 5 thousand 578 structures have been completed so far.
