Raipur , 19 February 2022. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the state government has taken initiative to provide generic medicines at affordable rates to the general public. After the scheme started from October 20, 2021, a total of five Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medical Stores are being successfully operated in Rajnandgaon district, where high quality generic medicines are being made available to the general public easily at affordable rates. People from all sections of the society are getting the benefit of this public welfare scheme of the government.
It is worth mentioning that the expansion of health facilities in the state has been the top priority of the state government. In this sequence, Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medical Stores scheme has been started to provide high quality generic medicines at concessional rates to the general public. 251 types of medicines and 27 types of surgical items are being made available at Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medical Stores at discounted rates ranging from 50 to 71 per cent off the retail price.

In the chain of implementation of Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Stores, shops were to be operated at 9 places by the urban bodies in Rajnandgaon district, out of which 5 places in Rajnandgaon, 2 near Railway Station Taxi Stand and Kamla College Road near Housing Board Colony and Khairagarh. In Fateh Singh Khel Maidan Shopping Complex, near Railway Hospital in Dongargarh, Khairagarh Road, Karbala Chowk and Dongargaon near Old Nagar Panchayat office and 1-1 shops are being operated in Gandai and Chuikhdan .

69 types of herbal products being prepared in Chhattisgarh are also being made available in these Shree Dhanwantri Generic Medical Stores operated under the scheme of the state government. There is also a good trend of the general public regarding these products sold under the brand name of Chhattisgarh Herbals.
