Raipur, 11 February 2022. Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey paid homage to Veer Gundadhur by garlanding the portrait of Veer Gundadhur on the occasion of Bhumkal Memorial Day at Raj Bhavan last day.
Governor Ms. Uikey while remembering Veer Gundadhur said that he brought awareness in the society through his works. Jannayak Gundadhur is a symbol of indomitable courage and he will always inspire to lead the society towards progress. He played an important role in the fight against the British before independence. In the year 1910, under the leadership of Jannayak Veer Gundadhur, the tribals fought fiercely against the British in the Bhumkal rebellion in Bastar. His sacrifice will always inspire and give strength.
