Raipur, 10 February 2022. Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey was impressed by the bravery and wisdom of the little brave children and announced an incentive amount of Rs.21 each to them. The children who received the State Bravery Award at Raj Bhavan here today met Ms. Uikey. On this occasion, the Governor presented a silver medal, a citation and a check of incentive amounting to 15 thousand rupees to the children. This amount was given by the Chhattisgarh State Child Welfare Council to 5 children selected for gallantry awards for the year 2020 and 2021.
To Governor Ms. Uike, the children narrated the stories of their wisdom in detail. The governor congratulated him for this. The Governor said that children have saved lives of people with their vigilance at such a young age, which is very inspiring. Governor Ms. Uike asked the children to study diligently and wished them all the best for their bright future.
On this occasion, the parents of the children, Chhattisgarh State Child Welfare Council’s Vice President Mr. Chandresh Shah and General Secretary Dr. Ashok Tripathi were present.
It is noteworthy that every year the children of the state who do adventure work are rewarded by the Chhattisgarh State Child Welfare Council. Unnati Sharma, Janhvi Rajput, Durgesh Sonkar and Aman Jyoti Zahere and Shaurya Pratap Chandrakar have been honored with gallantry awards for the year 2020 by the council.
In the year 2020, a fire broke out in the house of 12-year-old Unnati Sharma’s maternal uncle, a resident of Tikrapara, Raipur, selected for the gallantry award. His younger brother was at home when the fire broke out, Unnati wisely switched off the power supply in the house and got her brother out safely. In the year 2020 itself, 13-year-old Janhvi Rajput, a resident of Dhamtari, not only saved the life of her younger brother who was in the grip of current, but also prevented him from falling from the roof. Similarly, in the year 2020, 11-year-old Durgesh Sonkar of the selected fort showed courage and saved the lives of his three younger siblings from the attackers. Along with fearlessly cooperating with the police, he played an important role in getting the attackers of his family to be punished.
In the year 2021, 15-year-old Aman Jyoti Zahire of Korba, selected for the gallantry award, risked his life to save the life of his friend who was drowning in the waterfall. Similarly, 13-year-old Shaurya, a resident of Dhamtari, selected in 2021, alerted the people working there in view of the possibility of electric wires falling in the field and immediately stopped the power supply by giving information to the Electricity Department. This act of bravery saved the lives of 10 people working in the field.
