Raipur, 25 January 2022. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today duly inaugurated the state’s first sewerage treatment plant at Balikonta near Jagdalpur, the headquarters of Bastar division, at a cost of about Rs 54 crore. On this occasion, he prayed for the prosperity and prosperity of the state by performing aarti and offering prayers to the river Indravati. Describing the cleanliness of the river and other water sources as very important, the Chief Minister appreciated the work done by the Jagdalpur Municipal Corporation under the leadership of Bastar district administration and Mayor Smt. On this occasion, the Chief Minister visited the sewerage treatment plant and took technical information.
Overview of Sewerage Treatment Plant
Mayor Smt. Safira Sahu, while describing the Narva program being run by Chief Minister Shri Baghel for conservation of water sources as inspirational, said that it has inspired to complete the sewerage treatment plant soon. The foundation stone of this sewerage treatment plant was laid in August 2019 at the hands of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel. At the same time, with the continuous guidance and cooperation received in the construction of this plant, its construction was completed within the stipulated time-frame. Mayor Mrs. Sahu expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Mr. Baghel for this.
For the treatment of dirty water, it is being transported to Balikonta through a pipeline of about 10 km.
Giving information to Chief Minister Mr. Baghel about the technology used in the construction of this sewerage treatment plant, Collector Rajat Bansal informed that a sewerage treatment plant of 25 MLD capacity has been constructed in Balikonta under the AMRUT Mission. In the divisional headquarters Jagdalpur, about 180 lakh liters of polluted water is found daily in Dalpat Sagar and Indravati river. Due to the bacteria present in this water, turbidity and increased pH value, this water used to pollute the water of Dalpat Sagar and Indravati river. For the purification of this dirty water of the city, it is being transported to Balikonta through a pipeline of about 10 km long. Where after the purification of this water in three phases in the built plant, it will be released into the Indravati river. This sewerage treatment plant built under the AMRUT Mission scheme can clean 250 lakh liters of water per day. After purification, releasing this water back into the Indravati river will also get rid of the problem of the decrease in the water level of the river. 3 drains of Dalpat Sagar, 1 nallah in Mahadev Ghat, 2 nallahs behind Kendra prison, 1 nallah in power house, 1 nallah near intake well and 2 nallahs near Laxmi Narayan Mandir Raja cemetery, this water from river Indravati and Dalpat Sagar See you in the water. By connecting these 10 drains together, R.C.C. To be brought by pipe to the main pumping station at Balikonta sewerage treatment plant. 1 Nala in Power House, 1 Nala near Intake Well and 2 Nala near Laxmi Narayan Mandir Raja Graveyard get this water from Indravati River and Dalpat Sagar. By connecting these 10 drains together, R.C.C. To be brought by pipe to the main pumping station at Balikonta sewerage treatment plant. 1 Nala in Power House, 1 Nala near Intake Well and 2 Nala near Laxmi Narayan Mandir Raja Graveyard get this water from Indravati River and Dalpat Sagar. 250 lakh liters of water can be cleaned
