Raipur: Chief Minister will release Rs 4.21 crore online on January 22 to cattle rearing villagers, self-help groups and Gauthans

Raipur, 21 January 2022. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will release an amount of Rs. 4 crore 21 lakh online to the livestock farmers, women’s groups associated with Gauthans and Gauthan committees in the amount transfer program of Godhan Nyay Yojana organized at his residence office at 12 noon on January 22, 2022. From January 15, 2022, in the Gauthans of the state, Rs. 2 crore 76 lakh was paid in lieu of cow dung purchased from cattle rearers, farmers, landless under Godhan Nyay Yojana and Rs. 87 lakh to Gauthan committees and Rs. 58 lakh to women’s groups. Are included.  

It is worth mentioning here that under the Godhan Nyay Yojana, cow dung is being purchased from the villagers at the rate of Rs. This scheme was started in the state on 20 July 2020 from Hareli festival. From July 20, 2020 to December 31, 54.64 lakh quintals of cow dung have been purchased, in lieu of which Rs 119.41 crore has been paid to those selling cow dung. After the payment of Rs 2 crore 76 lakh to cow dung vendors on January 22, this figure will increase to Rs 122.17 crore. So far Rs 44.43 crore has been given to Gauthan committees and Rs 28.88 crore to women self-help groups as dividend.

Vermicompost, Super Compost, Super Compost Plus and other products are being prepared on a large scale from cow dung purchased by women’s groups under Godhan Nyay Yojana in Gauthans. More than 10 lakh 38 thousand quintals of vermi compost and 4 lakh 36 thousand quintals of super compost manure have been manufactured by women’s groups, which are being supplied through societies to various departments of the government and farmers at concessional rates. Apart from manure from cow dung, women’s groups are earning profit by manufacturing and selling go-casts, lamps, incense sticks, idols and other materials. Apart from this, various other income-oriented activities are being conducted by women groups in Gauthans, including vegetable and mushroom production, poultry, goat, fish farming and animal husbandry, due to which women groups have earned an income of Rs. 50 crore 57 lakh so far. are done. 11,463 women self-help groups are directly associated with Gauthans in the state, Whose member strength is 77,125. Joining Gauthans and Godhan Nyay Yojana has instilled a new confidence in women’s groups towards self-reliance. Electricity generation has been started in Gauthans by purchasing cow dung. An MoU has been signed between Kumarappa National Paper Institute, Jaipur, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Industries, Government of India’s Khadi and Village Industries Board and Chhattisgarh Gau Seva Aayog for making natural paint from cow dung.

For the conservation and welfare of cow in the state, construction of Gauthans is being done at a rapid pace in the villages. There is better management of livestock care, treatment and free fodder and water in Gauthans. So far, approval has been given for construction of Gauthans in 10,591 villages in the State, out of which 7933 Gauthans are built and operated. Out of which 2201 Gauthans have become self-supporting as of today. About 2 lakh rural, animal husbandry farmers are getting benefited from Godhan Nyay Yojana. Women make up 44.92 percent of those earning additional income by selling cow dung. 93 thousand 977 landless families are also getting benefited from this scheme.
