Raipur, 18 January 2022. Sowing of Rabi crops has been done in the state of Chhattisgarh 76 percent. So far sowing of rabi crops has been completed in 14 lakh 960 hectares against the target of 18 lakh 50 thousand hectares set for Rabi sowing this year. Among pulses, sowing of gram has been done in 3 lakh 74 thousand 970 hectares. This year, the sowing of Tiwda has exceeded the target in about 10 thousand hectares. The area proposed for the sowing of Tivda in the current Rabi season is 2 lakh 46 thousand hectares, whereas in today’s situation, Tivda has been sown in 2 lakh 56 thousand 410 hectares.
According to the information received from the Agriculture Department, so far sowing of wheat in 2 lakh 5 thousand 710 hectares, maize in 64 thousand 790 hectares, barley-sorghum and coarse cereals in 6 thousand 750 hectares has been completed. Sowing of pulse crops has been done in 7 lakh 52 thousand 980 hectare and oilseed crops in 1 lakh 88 thousand 750 hectare. Sugarcane has been sown in 17 thousand 360 hectares and greens and vegetables and other Rabi crops have been sown in 1 lakh 32 thousand 830 hectares.
