Raipur, 10 January 2022. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, during the review of the Food Department, had given strict instructions to the departmental officers to issue new ration cards regularly to the eligible families and applicants. In the meeting, the Chief Minister had directed the officers of the Food Department to ensure strict compliance of Chhattisgarh Food and Nutrition Security Act 2012 and Chhattisgarh Ration Card Rules 2016 in all the districts and to continue the process of making new ration cards continuously. In compliance with the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Food Department has given detailed guidelines regarding issuance of new ration cards to all the collectors today.
According to the instructions issued by the Food Department, the pending applications at the district level for making ration cards will be reviewed regularly by the Collector. Instructions have been given to the collectors to ensure the process of physical verification of pending applications and verification of eligibility within 15 days. After verification, the process of making available ration cards to the applicants by issuing ration cards will have to be done compulsorily according to the time-limit prescribed in the Public Service Guarantee Act 2011. In the disposal of applications received for making ration cards, instructions have been given to take special care that there should be no unnecessary delay in disposal of applications and beneficiaries should get ration cards within the time limit.
