Concerned about the rapidly increasing corona infection in the country, Smt. Sonia Gandhi today discussed with the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Bhupesh Baghel on phone regarding the preparations for the third wave of corona in the state of Chhattisgarh and the prevention of Omicron infection.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel informed that the number of corona infected has increased in some urban areas of the state like Raigad and Raipur. Omicron’s testing center has been fixed as Odisha for the state of Chhattisgarh. Samples are being sent to Odisha for testing, but due to the large number of samples there, there is a delay in testing. Mr. Baghel informed that so far no case of Omicron has been found in the state. He said that all arrangements have been made by the state government to prevent infection and treat the affected. RTPCR tests are being done continuously in the state and people found positive are also being treated continuously.
The Chief Minister assured Smt. Sonia Gandhi that precautionary steps like prevention of overcrowding in public places and programs and wearing of masks have been taken, along with exhorting them to ensure adherence to the guidelines for prevention of corona infection in the state. Better arrangement of beds, isolation wards, oxygen etc. has been ensured in the hospitals and health centers of the state.
