Raipur, 22 December 2021. Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain today inquired about the progress of paddy procurement from the collectors of Balodabazar, Korba, Balod, Bemetara, Kawardha, Kanker, Surguja, Gariaband, Jashpur and Koriya districts. He instructed for strict monitoring in the arrangement of tokens to be given to the farmers for the purchase of paddy. The Chief Secretary said that the paddy of all the registered farmers is procured in a systematic manner in the centers, it should be ensured at all times. He said that the farmers who have sold paddy in prescribed quantity, The process of surrendering their acreage should also be done. For the protection of paddy from untimely rains, separate stacking should be done in the collection centers of paddy according to the quality and keeping full preparedness. Instructions have been given for continuous monitoring to control illegal transportation of paddy from border areas. Shri Jain has also directed to expedite the proceedings against the chit fund company operators and use all possible sources to trace their assets.
The millers have been asked to speed up the lifting of paddy for custom milling and deposition of rice in FCI and non-milling after milling. Shri Jain has asked to pay special attention to the quality of rice deposited in FCI and Non. He has asked to take a meeting of the contracted millers for custom milling to ensure that rice is deposited as per the quality criteria in any FCI or non. For uninterrupted supply of rice being distributed through the Public Distribution System, the districts have been asked to deposit the rice for the next two months in non-required.
In this meeting organized through video conferencing, mainly the contracts of millers registered in the district, non-lifting mills, work orders issued for custom milling and offtake, according to milling capacity, target of milling, rice deposited in FCI and non-lifting, In FCI-Non, information was given by the collectors on the rejected lots and reasons, the need for gunny bags for upcoming purchases, identification of availability sensitive procurement centers and the identification and monitoring arrangements of centers with more than 15 percent purchases as compared to last year. The meeting was attended by Secretary Revenue Mr. N.N.Akka, Secretary Food Mr. Topeshwar Verma, Special Secretary Home Ms. Neha Champawat, Officer on Special Duty, Food Mr. Mohammad Kaiser Abdul Haq, Registrar Co-operative Institutions Mr. Himshikhar Gupta, Managing Director Markfed Ms. Kiran Kaushal, Managing Director State Civil Supplies Corporation Shri Niranjan Das was present. Senior officers of the police department were also present in the meeting through video conferencing.
