Raipur, 22 December 2021. Entire country including Chhattisgarh state is experiencing the effects of cold wave during winter season. To deal with the challenges so arising, administrative team is actively working to protect people from the cold wave at night, as per the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. District Collectors are also personally inspecting the arrangements made in the public places and squares at the night time.
Social Welfare Department is ensuring the arrangement of bonfires during the night in public places, especially at squares, railway stations, bus stands, passenger waiting rooms etc. Besides, warm clothes and blankets etc. are being distributed to the destitute and needy people with the help of volunteers, social organizations, donors. In the night shelters, old age homes and shelter homes, additional arrangements are being made to protect the elderly, differently-abled and children from cold. They are being provided sweaters, shawls, monkey caps, mufflers, socks, blankets, heaters and rooms to stay warm.
It is noteworthy that in view of the dropping temperature and cold wave that has been prevailing in the state for a few days, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has directed the Collectors to take necessary measures and ensure special vigilance in the districts. Chief Minister has directed the officials to ensure that no one faces any convenience due to the outbreak of cold wave in the state. Besides, Disaster Management Department has issued advisory for general public to prevent the outbreak of cold wave in different parts of the state.
