Raipur, 21 December 2021. Arrangements will be made to provide education in agriculture, commerce and arts faculties from the new academic session in Eklavya Adarsh residential schools operating in Chhattisgarh. At present, there is a system of imparting education in these schools only in the Faculty of Science and Mathematics. This decision was taken unanimously in the meeting of the Board of Directors of Tribal Welfare Residential Ashram Educational Institutions Committee held in Mantralaya under the chairmanship of Tribal, Scheduled Castes Development Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam today. Secretary Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Shri D.D. Singh said that with the introduction of the facility of study from these new faculties, the seats in the school would not remain vacant besides providing admission to the students in the faculty of their interest.
Commissioner Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Smt. Shammi Abidi informed that the result of class 10th and 12th board in Eklavya Model Residential Schools has been 100%. Special coaching should also be arranged for these schools like Prayas residential schools for the preparation of competitive examinations especially IIT, JEE and NEET. In the meeting, the members of the committee agreed in this regard and said that a proposal in this regard should be prepared and sent to the Government of India, so that the coaching facility can be started from the new academic session after approval.
In the meeting of the Board of Directors, in the year 2021-22, the proposal to start four new Eklavya residential schools at Dhengni and Farsbahar in Jashpur district, Hirapur in Raigad district and Sahanpur in Surguja district is under consideration with the Government of India for approval. It is noteworthy that at present 71 Eklavya residential schools are operating in the state. There are 10 girls, 6 boys and 55 combined schools, in which there is a provision to admit 420 children in each school from class 12th to 6th at the rate of 60 seats per class. After getting approval to operate four new Eklavya schools in the year 2021-22, the number of Eklavya Adarsh residential schools in the state will increase to 75. Apart from this, discussion was held regarding compassionate appointment of regular employees of Eklavya schools, promotion of class IV employees. Approval has been given to open a new bank account in Union Bank for Eklavya Adarsh Residential School, to open a new account for PVTGRS. To organize district, divisional and state level sports, cultural and intellectual competition of Eklavya Residential School till December 31, the income and expenditure of the state level committee was approved. Eklavya Vidyalaya’s IIT, NIT, Triple IT and its equivalent and MBBS courses were also discussed in detail regarding the supply of laptops and sanction of financial assistance.
